~Lily

I sat on the couch, wiping away fresh tears. At this point, you'd think I'd be used to it. Adrien doesn't love me and no matter what I do, he never will.

He had just gotten back last night, but now he was gone again.

Where did he go this time?

I seriously doubted it was the office.

Then my phone buzzed.

It was a message… from an unknown number.

“Hi Lily, this is Gia. I'm awake from the coma. I just wanted to thank you for looking after Adrien all these years. But now that I'm back, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave that house already. As you can see, he's happy with me”

My chest tightened as I stared at the attached photo. Adrien lay beside Gia, peacefully asleep, still in the same clothes he wore last night.

So… he spent the night with her again?

I let out a bitter laugh.

All the times I donated blood for Gia while she was unconscious… and Adrien never once came to thank me. He never even showed up at the hospital. But for Gia, he’s willing to stay by her side day and night.

I stared at the image, my heart breaking all over again. Tears slid down my face, landing on my phone screen. I wiped them away quickly, not wanting to cry anymore.

Then a sharp pain stabbed through my stomach.

I breathed hard, clutching my belly. It felt like something was moving inside me, twisting painfully. My vision blurred, and it felt like everything was shaking.

"Adrien…" I whispered weakly, reaching out for my phone. I scrolled to his number, my finger trembling over it. I wanted to tell him that I am hurt, that I am in pain. But I stopped. Instead, I kept scrolling until I found Lucas.

Even as the pain grew worse and my hands trembled, I tapped his name and hit the call.

“Lily?” Lucas’s voice came through, filled with concern. “Are you okay? Do you need…”

“My stomach… it hurts…” I managed to say.

Before I could say another word, everything went dark.

When I opened my eyes, all I could hear was a faint beeping sound. I blinked rapidly, trying to figure out where I was. Panic gripped me as I sat up.

“Lily. You’re awake.”

I turned and saw Lucas sitting beside the bed.

“What happened?” I asked, reaching for my stomach. “My baby! what happened to my child?”

Lucas stood, his face a mix of anger and care.

“You’re still worried about his child after everything he’s done to you?” he said sharply. “Come on, Lily. That man doesn’t deserve a single thought from you.”

I stayed quiet. But something in his tone calmed me. My baby was okay.

He softened a little. “Your baby is fine. The doctor said it was gastritis. It happens when you skip meals and eat cold food often.”

I let out a shaky breath. It wasn't a surprise to me.

I’d spent years skipping meals, waiting at the long dining table for Adrien to come home only for him to never show up.

“Isn’t this enough, Lily?” Lucas said, snapping me out of my thoughts. “You used to be strong. Remember how determined you were to be a lawyer? You graduated with honors, had big dreams. And now look at you… wasting your life for Adrien.”

He crouched beside the bed, taking my hand gently.

“You’re brilliant. Talented. You were full of life before all this. And now that Gia is awake, there’s no point holding on anymore.”

I swallowed hard. “I’ll leave… but only after I give birth.”

Lucas nodded, offering a soft, reassuring smile.

I was discharged not long after, and Lucas offered to drive me back. I asked him to drop me off a little ways from the mansion. I wasn’t ready for more questions.

As I approached the house, I noticed all the servants were gathered outside. Their faces looked tense, nervous.

“What’s going on?” I asked one of them.

They avoided eye contact and said nothing.

Confused, I walked into the house and stopped dead in my tracks the moment I stepped into the lounge.

Adrien was in the kitchen.

His sleeves were rolled up, hair tied back, and his hand stirring a pot of soup on the stove.

Gia was sitting on a wheelchair beside Adrien, smiling at him as he prepared the meal.

As I stood there, completely overwhelmed with anger, Gia rolled the wheelchair backwards and her eyes met mine.

She smirked and crossed her arms. “Well..well! Look who we have here. It's Lily!” She said sweetly, tapping her necklace. “Long time no see, Lily. Tell me, what have you come to do here? I mean, how may I help you?”

~Lily What… what did I just hear? I’m pregnant? One week pregnant? It didn’t feel real at all. I quickly turned to Lucas, barely hiding my shock. “Lucas… did you hear that? The doctor said I’m pregnant!” He didn’t smile. His face was caught between emotions. I could tell he was happy I was going to be a mother, but deep down, I also saw the sadness because the baby belonged to Adrien. But honestly, I didn’t care. This was amazing news for me. Thankfully, I was discharged early. I couldn’t stop smiling, still buzzing with excitement. In Lucas’ car, I kept checking the pregnancy report, over and over, until Lucas finally sighed. “So… what now?” he asked, his eyes glancing at me. “Now that you know you’re carrying his baby, are you still going through with the divorce?” His words paused my happiness for a bit. I slowly folded the report and slipped it into my bag. “I don’t know, Lucas,” I murmured. “But this child… it feels like a miracle. Maybe a sign not to go through with th

If we proceed, she might die!”I heard a voice flicker in my head. At that moment, I was so weak, it was hard to even process where I was. My body felt heavy, and everything around me was blurry. Then I heard another voice which was cold, commanding, and painfully familiar.“Does it look like I care?”“I don’t care if it’s too dangerous for her or if she dies. My priority is Gia. If anything happens to her, do you think I’ll forgive myself?”Gia?The moment I heard that name, I knew something was wrong. Something worse than I’d imagined.
