"Will she be fine?" The doctor nodded and I exhaled shakily.

"Just a mild concussion, she'll be fine." The doctor smiled and put his hand in my shoulder.

"We should be more worried about your hand Mr Sylvarn," I swallowed looking down at my bandaged hand.

"The knife narrowly escaped your tendons," he continued as I raised my head. "You would have lost the locomotive ability of that hand, endangering your entire arm."

"What does that mean?" He demonstrates with his fingers. "You would have lost the ability to do this." He wiggled his fingers for me to see.

"Oh." I lowered my head back to the bed Elowen's body was on.

I didn't care if I didn't have an arm anymore. It was my fault.

Owen attacked her because of me, I just wanted her to be safe.

"Did you get it Mr Sylvarn?" I raised my head to him. "Sorry, what did you say?" I readjusted on the seat I was on.

"I said be more careful when you're using a knife to dice up vegetables or whatever sort." I raised my brows in confusion.
