Sèbastien’s Pov

“I-I’m sorry Alpha but if you don’t slow down, we are most definitely going to have an accident.” I heard my driver panicking from the passenger’s seat but that only made me add more pressure to the gas pedal.

I don’t plan to make use of his advice. I have somewhere to get to and I plan to reach there as fast as I can.

My heart did a flip in my chest as I hit a bump, and maybe if I hadn’t gained control on the steering wheels faster, we truly could have crashed.

I have never driven this fast.

And maybe that’s why the drive was shorter than I expected. We reached the pack and I didn’t turn off the ignition before I stepped out of the car, that feeling of urgency rippling through my veins.

A check was passed through by the wolves at the border to their Alpha and to my outmost surprise, we were let in.

However, we were told he was currently occupied at the moment and I would have to stay somewhere until the next day.

I was never the type to sleep outside of my pack but in a situation like this, I don’t mind staying weeks away in another pack. I would do anything, anything to see Rowena again.

“Are you sure about this?” My driver began, his voice quivering as he attempted to meet my eyes. “It’s not too late to turn around and leave.” He continued.

My expression darkened further, and he stepped aside as I walked through the gate to the guest house.

As the door closed behind us with a thud, I turned around to face him and he immediately shifted back, fear peeking out from his eyes.

“I’m here already and I don’t plan to leave, not until I have seen Rowena with my own eyes. You can take your leave if you want, Brendon.” I said.

He quickly fell on his knees, his hand gripping the floor for support.

“No, please Alpha Sèbastien! I didn’t mean to discourage you. I beg of you, don’t send me away. I— I was just worried and thought it’d be safe to go back to the pack. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to get on your bad side, please Alpha!”

My eyes narrowed on him, my face contorted with anger at his audacity but I couldn’t let it overwhelm me.

“Then learn to keep your mouth shut. Talk only when necessary or I’ll have no choice than to send your body back to the pack.” I seethed.

My words cut through him like a knife and he nodded, scrambling off the floor. I took a calming breath and flung the door open, leaving Brendon to close it behind us.

The light suddenly turned on, revealing two uniformed women.

“Welcome, Alpha. We’ve cleaned up the space and you can take any of the rooms upstairs. We are here to serve you until you leave so please, do not hesitate to call on us whenever you need one or two things.” Giving a final bow of their heads, they turned around and disappeared along the hallway ahead.

I made my way up the stairs and Brendon followed behind me. I entered the first room I saw and opened the window, letting in the little flow of light while my driver switched on the room’s light.

The room was a big spacious one compared to the tiny guest room I was anticipating.

“You’ll be next door if you need me.” Brendon stood up from the wooden chair where he sat, prepared to leave and I nodded.

He left and I stared out of the window, as I made a silent prayer in my mind that my Beta shouldn’t have the wrong information.

I don’t know how I’ll feel when it’s morning and Rowena isn’t here like I was informed, but then, she had to.

My Beta has always been right with any information he gives to me. After many search for Rowena, her whereabout is finally known and I just have to hope I see her.

She might kick me out thereafter but as long as I see her face, I’ll know how to cross the next bridge. I offended her so much that I’m sure she wouldn’t want to lay her eyes on me. But I can’t stay away, can I?

I turned towards the bed with a soft sigh and luckily, it’s already being laid. I dumped myself on it and drawed the duvet up my body, my eyes upward and unable to catch a sleep, different thoughts roamed my head.

All of them related to my ex- mate. My chest rised, a grunt escaping it, and I had to scrunch my eyes closed eventually if I at least want to have a tiny wink of sleep.

The next morning, I snapped awake when I felt the ray of sunlight flooding in through the window. I looked at the ticking clock against the wall and cursed internally before kicking the duvet away and getting out of bed.

It’s already 10 o’clock in the morning.

I realized I should have set up an alarm or whatever! Damn, if only I knew I was going to be lost in my sleep up to this extent.

I went unclad at the sight of new clothes on the couches. Knowing one of those women must have sneaked it in at dawn, with little worries, I went inside the bathroom for a bath.

Just when I finished dressing up, a knock came on the door and before I could answer, the door opened, revealing a panting Brendon. I glared at him, and he bowed his head apologetically, remembering how much I love my privacy.

I stared at him, and was starting to get pissed off when he found his voice.

“It’s just that I got a call from your Beta and he said your wife,Olivia, has taken one of the cars and she’s on her way here.” He stuttered, and my face turned red with anger. He must have seen it because he quickly chimed, trembling, “I swear, I don’t know how she knew of your whereabouts.”

“Where’s the car key?” I asked, making him lift his gaze to meet mine again.

He slipped his hands into his pocket and stepped forward cautiously. “Here.” He said, avoiding my eyes as he handed it over.

I dashed out of the room and the guest house. My palms sweated. I got behind the wheels, and fortunately for Brendon, he slipped into the car faster before I could abandon him on the spot.

Eyes blazing with rage and knuckles turning white against the steering wheel, I sped out of the pack’s gate.

I’m sorry I had to leave without seeing you, Rowena. But I promise, I promise I’ll be back after putting Olivia in her place.

Sèbastien’s PovI had barely stepped out of the car when Olivia came out of nowhere and crashed into my chest, hugging me tightly to herself. My face hardened in annoyance, not because her arms around my neck were too hard to take off, but because I had just been fooled. I glanced toward Brendon, who quickly stared away, fully aware of the way I was feeling. The way I feel like getting my hands on Jason, my Beta, and knocking him out before he would be able to breathe a word out. I seriously can’t believe I have been tricked. The same Olivia who had been said to be finding me over was here, in the pack, gone nowhere. “Welcome home, baby. Guess what? I prepared your favorite meal and…” Olivia swooped to my side, attempting to lead me inside but I stood still, for a second or two. “Was this your plan with Jason?” I asked her and she immediately stopped to look at me. The smile didn’t drop from her face, instead, it widened. She knew what she had done. “You weren’t home and your dep

Rowena’s PovI woke up with a throbbing headache, my head banging like it would split open anytime soon, but my body felt warm because of my arm that was wrapped around the sleeping form of my little twins, Aiden and Lily. I gently shifted my arm, trying not to disturb them, and winced as a sharp pain shot through my head. I must have had one too many glasses of wine last night. It couldn’t be helped— yet again, I had performed the sacred Moonlit Blessing, a ritual that ensured the pack's prosperity and good fortune for the coming year. The pack had thrown a grand celebration in my honor, and as the Luna, I couldn't refuse the festivities. I now have a hangover and I’m now paying the price but I don’t regret it. It’s been four years and I still don’t. I don’t think I ever will. After all, it was nothing compared to how the pack had given me a home among them four years ago when I thought all hope was lost. Despite the risk of harboring a rogue, they welcomed me with open hearts

Sèbastien’s POV FOUR YEARS LATER “She was carrying your child!” My heart thumped loudly in my chest as I listened to the doctor's revelation. I totally forgot about Olivia that I came with to the hospital in the first place, at this point she was the least of my problems. "Rowena was pregnant. She was carrying my child." I kept repeating to myself, while struggling to get out of the hospital without stumbling on my face. Soon as I was outside, I found myself struggling to breath at the same time I tried to catch my breath.“No. This can’t be possible.” I stood there outside the hospital frozen, the doctor’s words repeatedly echoing in my ears. Recollections started coming to me in waves, I then remembered what happened the morning I rejected her. When she walked into the room, I was surprised to see her smiling and waiting for me with a huge smile on her face when it was visible I had Olivia on our bed. She was excited about something, but I didn’t notice back then and was only

Rowena’s POV Love is a blatant lie only the betrayed can tell of its nemesis. If I had realized this sooner then perhaps, I would have been able to reshape my fate. But decided to blindly get drowned and walked through a hell of no return, because I choose to belief devotion and submission was all I needed to have Sèbastien to myself forever. Another woman came to dethrone me and I suffered a great loss because right from the onset that we meant he claimed he has no feeling for his best friend whatsoever. Until I caught him on our ought-to-be-special bed where he just finished copulating with his so called childhood friend. I can still recall the hurt and pain I felt as my heart crumbled into tiny pieces and how the pain from the mate bond still wrap my life like an ugly scar. I thought there was going to be another chance for us to rewrite our story when I got the news of my pregnancy so I chosed to ignore his actions. I turned a blind eye to reality and caged myself in a cell

Rowena’s POV My eyes are stinging with tears. I felt like a caged bird unable to fly and escape the pain that consumed me. Just last week, Sèbastien had refused to satisfy my sexual cravings and said that he was weak. He wouldn’t even let me touch him. Could this be the reason for the change? I stifled a cry. How could he? My face turned bright red and I glared at their sleeping forms. Pain washed over me, not only did he decide to cheat, he couldn't keep it hidden away from me either. How could he do this to me? I attempted to break them apart when my phone rang, once again. It was Doctor Julia, our family’s doctor. I picked the call and made my way out the room and down the hallway. Out the corner of my eyes, I saw my mate stir from his sleep with a delightful smile. His arms circled Olivia around the waist and cupped her closer to his chest. “Yes, doctor. Sorry I took a while—” I sighed and have barely spoken when she cut in, rendering me speechless. “Congratulations, Rowena.
