Chapter 5

Terrified, Susan hurriedly made her way to the cold storage room.

Milo forced a smile, one that looked completely out of place against his wild expression. The contrast made it almost terrifying.

He wrapped his arm around Susan's shoulder, acting all spoiled. "Honey, you're here. Promise me, from now on, don't have any more contact with him, okay? I don't care about your past. It's normal for a successful woman to have a few men on the line. I'll forgive you as long as you make him disappear from my life."

The fire was extinguished, and I lay on the cold floor, gasping for breath.

Susan trembled uncontrollably, especially when she felt my sharp gaze from behind her. Cold sweat dripped down her forehead, but Milo was unaware.

He pressed on, "Honey..."

"Shut up!" Susan snapped, raising her hand and slapping him across the face.

Milo's right cheek swelled instantly; faint blood vessels were visible beneath his skin. His eyes widened with disbelief and welled up with tears.
