ADOLPHUS’ POV:

I couldn’t participate in the exam because of how more corpses kept reappearing. I wanted Ebony to not involve herself with them as well but it was late now. It has been three days since all the students were tossed in the forest.

“You’re still thinking that she’s not strong. You should trust her more. She knows how to take care of the situation,” Frederick said. “I thought the explosion taught you to believe that she isn’t safe even when she’s with you.”

“Just shut up.”

“And I bet you got the report from that kid you brought that stated there were two people going after her,” he added.

“What do you want now? Do you want me to punch you?”

“You’re mad. I am mad. You think I’m not but we don’t have a choice. There is a reason why you chose to not take the memories from me. You didn’t want to see her die again. You simply believed in my word once a certain number of deaths hit.”

“I can handle it.”
