CHAPTER FIVE

The rooms I cleaned were so big and everything in it looked expensive. I worked quickly, hoping I'd finish on time, so that I will be able to go tell Emily and my mom about the news.

I polished the furniture, mopped the floors of every room. And I changed the sheets on every beds in the house. Then I proceeded to stuff the heavy sheets in the washing machine. Then transfer to the dryer. And then iron it.

By the time I went for my lunch break, I was feeling nauseous and dizzy.

When I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, I bumped into someone. The force of the collision sent me sprawling to the floor.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking." The person apologized. I nodded numbly, as I struggled to get up. The man extended his hand and I took it and he dragged me up.

"You must be the new housekeeper." His voice is deep and sonorous. I gave him a quick glance. He was tall, towering over me, and he's very good looking.
