Chapter 4: Aviana

“Vi, why are you being so.... Normal about everything?! He is ruining your life!” Sebastian shouts. Well, Tyler was right. Seb is not taking it well.

“Seb, he was stuck just like me. It’s all unexpected to him too. We both are kinda in the same situation. And though you understand me the best, he understands the situation better than you because he’s stuck too. I just want to get to know him. He isn’t the bad guy here.” I explain. All my other friends left the room as soon as I told everyone about my plans. They knew how Seb was going to explode. So, they gave us some space.

“What if he is a paedophile? Huh? What will you do then?” Sebastian asks as he pulls onto his dark, almost black hair.

“He’s just 26! I am 21 for crying out loud! He’s just five years older than us! And he’s actually better than you think.” I tell him as I shake my head in disappointment. How can Seb even think that about Kayden?

“Avia-” Seb starts but I cut him off.

“Stop, Seb! I thought that we already went over all this! I didn’t know that you would think such things about him. I am his wife. Even if it’s just for six months, my name is still connected with his. I am not going to hear anything now.” I tell Sebastian as I walk out of the room. Sebastian calls after me but I don’t stop.

I can’t let his words get to me. I can’t break. I can’t let my parents win....

"Vi, please stop crying! You know what will happen. They will all come back! You have seen the next movie in the series." Seb tries to console me through the phone but I can't stop crying.

"But Tony Stark will die! Seb, without him, we are doomed! This whole world is doomed!" I say as I sob.

When I reached back at Kayden's place, he wasn't there. So, I decided to watch a movie alone. I chose Avengers: Infinity war. And in the end, I ended up bawling my eyes out. I had to call Sebastian because he's the only one who knows how to make me feel better. After all, he is my best friend. And though we did have a fight earlier, I am in a little too much pain after seeing Spider man disappearing that I had to set my pride aside for a while.

It has been about half an hour and Seb is still trying to make me stop crying. Apparently, his skills to make me feel better don't work properly through a video call.

"Vi, Peter Parker is going to be the next Iron man. You don't have to worry! You've seen that movie too." Seb reasons. I can hear a bit of frustration seeping into his voice now.

"No, Seb! No one can take Tony's place. He was one of a kind! I love him! Do you even know how it feels to lose the love of your life? I can't lose him!" I say as I start sobbing violently again.

"You lost the love of your life?" I hear Kayden's confused voice from somewhere behind me. I turn around to find him standing there in the same clothes that I saw him in in the morning. But his hair was a little messy now. It looked like he had run his hand through them a lot.

I nod at him as I turn back to my phone and continue sobbing. I was sitting in the living room so that when Kayden came back, he could have joined me.

"What happened?" Kayden asks me as he sits down beside me on the couch. I can hear the evident worry in his voice. I look at my phone to see Seb clenching his jaw.

"I don't need you now. Bye, idiot." I say as I disconnect the call before Seb can say anything. Kayden looks at my phone before turning to me with a raised eyebrow.

"That was my idiot best friend, Seb." I tell him. He nods his head and his expression turns back to one full of worry as he looks at my tear stained cheeks. I place my head on his shoulder. He freezes for a moment before he relaxes a little. After a few seconds, he wraps his arm around my shoulder.

"What happened?" Kayden asks in a near-whisper.

"Half of the world just stopped existing. Thanos won." I say, my sobs now getting quieter. I was feeling comfortable with his arm around me.

"What?!" Kayden exclaims. I pull away from him and look at his face.

"Avengers: Infinity wars. Thanos won. And now, Spider man is gone. And though I'm not like Seb who thinks that Spider man was great, I am sad because Tony is all alone!" I say as tears start forming in my eyes again.

"That's why you're crying? I thought that you are going through post breakup trauma." Kayden says with a tired sigh.

"Breakup? Last I checked, I'm married to you. And so, I have no other guy in my life at the moment. I mean I do have a few guys in my life but they are my friends. I don't have a boyfriend. That would be cheating on you. I'm a loyal person!" I snap at him. He raises his hands up in surrender as an amused smile breaks onto his face.

"Sorry. But you do know that everyone will come back, right?" Kayden says.

"I know! But the cost is a little too much! I love Tony Stark!" I tell him.

"I know that Tony Stark is one of a kind but he died a hero. Don't you remember E.D.I.T.H.? Tony will be remembered forever. He will live forever in everyone's hearts." Kayden says.

"I know but-" I stop middle sentence as realization hits me. My eyes grow wide as I stare at Kayden. "You're a Marvel fan!" I state rather than ask.

"I.... Uh...." Kayden tries to come up with something to say but I can see his cheeks turning a little red. I giggle at him as I pinch one of his cheeks.

"Don't be embarrassed to be a fan of the most awesome movie makers to ever exist." I tell him. He nods at me as he looks at me. I realize that I have stopped crying and I am now smiling. "You really know how to make someone feel better." I tell him.

"I haven't ever done something like that." He says. I smile at him as I pinch his cheek while he wipes my cheeks to get rid of the tears that were still on my cheeks.

"Come on. Let's watch Avengers: Endgame. If I cry again, you are going to make me feel better again." I say. I can see some hesitancy on his face. "Just one movie. We can have our dinner while watching it so that you can go to bed early. It'll be fun!" I tell him with a huge grin on my face.

"Okay. But let me go and get changed." Kayden says as he walks to his room.

"Okay!" I say as I get up and go to the kitchen to make some popcorn and to heat the dinner that Martha had already prepared for us. I take everything to the living room and place the edibles on the coffee table as I put the movie on the TV. I turn around when I hear Kayden's footsteps to find him in a plain white T-shirt which doesn't hide his glorious muscled chest.

"Usually I start speaking between movies when I get bored but that doesn't happen with Marvel movies. Marvel has my respects. And the movies where Tony Stark is present, I can never disrespect him by speaking in between." I tell Kayden as he settles down on the couch next to me. He chuckles at that.

"I am not going to speak in between either." He says as he raises his hands up in surrender.

"Turn your phone to vibrate too. If I hear it ringing during the movie, you'll see my not-so-happy face. And believe me when I tell you that it's beyond scary!" I warn him and he does what I told him to do.

"I'm ready. You can start the movie now." Kayden says as he settles back on the couch with his plate. I nod my head as I start the movie.

Maybe I can get a really good friend out this unexpected marriage....
