Chapter 17: Kayden

I leave my room to go to work when I hear a familiar sweet laughter coming from the kitchen, making me frown.

Wasn’t she supposed to be in college by now?

I make my way to the kitchen to find her sitting at the breakfast bar on her chair, laughing at something with Martha.

I’m awestruck as I take in her. She is wearing a plain black summer dress which comes to her mid-thigh with a pair of knee-length heeled boots.

When she looks at me, she waves at me with her usual grin.

"Good Morning, Kayden!" She says when I reach her. She stands up and wraps her arms around my neck, shocking me. I quickly recover from the shock and wrap my arms around her waist. "I missed you." she mumbles.
