( Gemma’s pov )
“She must be punished. A traitor like her doesn’t have the right to live!”
Someone from the aggressive crowd shouted. I had my head lowered, tears of humiliation, pain and being abandoned flowed uncontrollably. I could see my mother crying and begging Adonis to show mercy on me but he stood there emotionlessly.
“Silence!”
Beta’s voice forced the noises to die down. The time for the judgement had come. I could feel the presence of death looming over me, waiting for my soul to leave my body.
“Warrior Gemma Pristley has contributed a lot in the growth of our pack. Her bravery and war skills aren’t unknown to anyone. She saved us many times from rogue attacks but proved that she is truly the daughter of former Gamma Gabriel Pristley, a traitor just like him.”
Beta spoke in a serious tone. Everyone was listening him curiously. I internally chuckled how good he is at acting. Only if they knew his real face. I had lost a baby, a baby whose existence was unknown to me, a tiny life. Sadie confirmed it. A life created by him and I but he must have misunderstood me.
“Evidence showed that my Luna involved herself in serious treasons, she betrayed me. As the Alpha of this pack, it’s my duty to serve the right judgement.” Adonis spoke in a cold tone. This time, I was also confused because his wicked mind had definitely cooked something horrendous.
“Luna Gemma Pristley made a secret deal with our enemy, the Yellow Mist Pack and she was selling confidential information to them. When my daughter found out about her treason, she tried to kill her. I have found evidence in her house. Her own mother can testify it.”
Beta’s words left me stunned. I shot my head up and saw the smirking faces of Seline and then my blurry eyes shifted on my mother who was crying hysterically.
“It is a lie! I never betrayed our pack. I swear on the Goddess.” I shouted in my defence and wiggled in the silver chains that were tied around my wrists and ankles.
A whip lashed on my wounded back and I let out an ear-piercing scream.
“You have nothing to defend yourself, bitch! We have your mother here who can testify. What else we need to prove your sin?” Beta sneered at me.
I coiled on the ground and cried as more whips landed on my battered body. My eyes were on my mother. She was shaking her head every time they beat me.
“Mrs. Pristley, do you accept that your daughter has committed treason?” Adonis asked my mother in his Alpha tone.
I begged her through mind link to say ‘no’ because her testimony couldn’t be challenged. She’s my own mother.
“Ye..yess..Alpha. My..daughter is involved in anti-pack activities. I confirm her crimes.” My mother said in a shaky tone and squeezed her eyes.
It was worse than dying the most horrible death. At this point, I actually wanted them to kill me and end this cycle of miseries.
Did they threaten her? But I know her better than anyone. She loves me more than her life. She’d not trade me for anything.
The hateful remarks were showered upon me again along with stones. They pelted stones at me because in their eyes, I had committed the most heinous sin.
“So, we all heard how Luna Gemma betrayed us and as your Alpha and your guardian, it’s my duty to serve the right judgement so no one in the future would dare to commit such crime again.” Adonis spoke in his Alpha tone.
I had no energy left to hear his next words because I knew what they would be.
My death sentence.
“I have decided her punishment. Gemma Pristley deserves a horrible punishment but I am not merciless. Considering her contributions for the pack, I decided not to kill her but she can’t live here either. I do not trust her even as a slave. So, she’ll be casted out of the pack before the midnight.”
He made the judgement. He never for once tried to ask me the truth. He was a coward who didn’t even face me. I pray he regret what he had lost. He lost his baby, his most desired heir and me.
“Take Mrs. Pristley away from here.” Adonis ordered and in the next moment, my mother was escorted out of there, her teary eyes never leaving mine. Adonis also stormed out of there, my eyes lingered on his retreating figure.
“Whip her!” Beta roared and I prepared myself for more beating and prayed the goddess to bless me with death.
They beat me, with silver laced whips. At this point, I couldn’t feel the pain anymore because my body was slowly slipping towards death. My bones were broke, skin peeled off everywhere and it’ll leave ugly scars if I survive.
I didn’t wish to survive.
“I hope you’ll be in heaven soon, Gemma.” Seline whispered as she leaned down to mock at my biggest defeat and her victory.
( Gemma’s pov )“Please, let me go, I won’t come here again. I beg you.” I joined my hands in front of him. I had no hopes inside me because I was always deceived.“We don’t show mercy unless you deserve it.” He said quietly and signalled his she-wolves to drag me along with them.I again fell into the trap of death and twisted game of fate. They took me to their pack and I was locked in a dark cell but it wasn’t as putrid and cold as the one I was kept in by Adrian. I was only locked and I couldn’t smell any other prisoner’s presence.“Sadie, what should I do? I have disappointed you. I was never brave enough to make you feel proud of me.” I tried to talk to my wolf.“It’s okay. You don’t have to blame yourself. We have to survive at any cost. We can’t let Seline and Adonis live freely after destroying our life.” She said with resentment and deep sedimented anger.“But surviving this hell is impossible, Sadie. Alpha Axel isn’t very kind either. I can’t forget how Papa died while savi
( Gemma’s pov )“I can’t believe she is still alive. She is a stubborn one. I haven’t seen any wolf with in such critical condition with broken bones and flesh battered, not even the Alpha bloods.”I heard someone saying. I tried to move but my body was numb. I tried to open my eyes, my breathing became ragged and as soon as I open my eyes, bright sunrays and my burning eyes forced me to shut them again. A low whimper escaped from my mouth.“She’s awake! Oh My God!”A man exclaimed and I heard more whispers.I was alive?Or it was a place for afterlife?“Sadie, can you hear me?” I tried to feel my wolf. If I was alive means Sadie was there because there was no way I had survived the severe beating.“Dear, can you open your eyes?” A soft and warm hand touched my forehead, the voice was gentle.I slowly opened my eyelids and a beautiful face came into my blurry vision. I was indeed alive.“Wat..water.” I asked for some water as my throat was dry. I had no idea how long I had passed out.

( Gemma’s pov )“How could you do this to Seline?”The Alpha of Blue Moon Pack and, Adonis Maslow and my mate growled at me. It broke my heart how he looked ready to kill me, his dark eyes reflected hatred and menace. Beside him, stood his lover, Seline clutching tightly on his arms.“Adonis, tell me that it’s a joke. She…she is nothing to you.” I said pointing my finger at Seline, the Beta’s daughter with a frightened expression on her face. I heard the rumours, I saw their closeness but I wasn’t ready to believe any of it.My heart was hammering against my rib cage. My mate couldn’t be fooling me. He held another woman close to him, the place which is rightfully mine. He had been distant towards me ever since we found out that we were mates and he had to mark me. I was the pack’s luna but our relationship was cold. At least, from his side.“Stop pretending, Gemma. Seline told me everything.” He growled at me in his alpha tone.“Adonis, please…trust me. I didn’t push her. She is tryi
