Chapter 7 leaving

“ Boss, I finished fixing those cameras. Would you like me to hook them up?” Creed asked holding them in his hands

“Yes.”

“ you okay sir?” Creed asks

“ Yes, I'm fine.”

“ Are you sure? You look heartbroken” he mocked drawing tears with his finger down his cheek

“ how can I be heartbroken when me and her aren’t even together?” I hissed

“ say that to your face” he chuckled walking away

“ fucking prick” I mumble to myself

" I heared that" he yelled

Okay I’ll admit I'm a little sad that I will be leaving without her but it’s not the end of the world. She will be better off without me in the end. Her world is so innocent and pure! Being in mine will only ruin her.

“ whip that sour look off your face” my grandma said walking into the kitchen where I’m sulking

“ What sour face?”

“ don’t play dumb with me Alex I wasn’t born yesterday. You can’t be mad at her for not saying anything when you haven’t said anything either and you leaving without doing so is breaking your own heart! And hers which I told you not to do” she Snaps

“ what am I supposed to do? Walk up to her tell her we are supposed to be together and that she is to leave her whole life behind to be with a total stranger?” I questioned

“ well, if you put it like that I agree it sounds ridiculous maybe talk to her stay another night, ask her how she feels about having a mate. See if you can get her to open up to you. She’s a smart girl she’ll catch on. She’s also very private too, knowing she hasn’t said anything yet one wrong thing might drive her away forever.” She tells me

“ yeah great pep talk grandma” I sighed hanging my head down

“ Always here to help,” she smiles, pouring tea in her cup and walking to the living room. She reminds me so much of mom but mom would know exactly what I’m supposed to do she wouldn’t trust me to handle it on my own. I don’t even trust myself to handle this on my own. But her telling me how private she is makes sense. I really don’t know much about her. Maybe tonight I can get some answers.

“ Good morning everyone!” Charlotte announced as she enters the house with her teeth chattering, you can tell her hair is wet as if she just got out of the shower

“ Charlotte, can I ask you a question?” I choked out as she walked into the kitchen with a pot hot chocolate placing it on the stove

“ sure?” She smiles opening the fridge and grabbing the whipped cream

“ Would you like to go to dinner with me tonight? I’m not sure where the restaurant is or where we would go but whatever you want is fine with me if you’ll let me take you out”

“ smooth” creed whispers earning a elbow to the side

“ ouch rude!” He hissed

“ so?” I asked

“ that sounds lovely” she nods heading to the living room probably to gossip to my grandmother about about my hesitation

“ you are child” I hiss at Creed

“ At least I know how to ask a girl out without showing how scared I am.” He chuckled backing away before getting about elbow to the ribs

“ Did Ryan finish putting up those last two cameras?” I asked as he poured hot chocolate into two to-go cups

“ yeah he did then decide he wanted to go sledding before we left so he probably won’t be back till later” he explained handing me one of the cups

“ he’s just as much as a child as you are no wonder you guys are brothers” rolling my eyes I don't know what I'm going to do with these two.

“ hey! Just because that’s true doesn’t mean We have to talk about it.” He pouted, rolling my eyes. I help grandpa put together a bookshelf for grandma's books she’s collected over the years. We took a break and went through the photo albums she had of mom and dad. Even pictures of when my sister was born, they weren't joking when they said her eyes were glowing. They don't have many of her though she told me how fickle my parents were of her powers showing up in photos. Looking at pictures of mom and dad reminded me of the times I would get so mad when they wanted to take pictures, now I wish I had more.

Finishing the book shelf and wiring a lamp to grandma's nightstand so she doesn’t have to stand up to turn it on and off.

“ you better go clean up and get ready for that dinner date you made with Charlotte she left an hour ago to do so herself” grandma reminded me

“ right.” I say standing up dusting off my knees.I walk up stairs jumping into the shower.I already regret agreeing to this, I don’t want to pressure her into agreeing into anything. Getting out I dry off and put on my black suit and tie I brought just in case I needed it. Heading out of the door I walk over to her house and knock on her door.

*knock*knock*

The door swings open and she stands at the door with a leather jacket on, dark blue jeans and a white tank top

“ overdressed? Underdressed?” She asked searching my face for answers

“ you look perfect” I clear my throat taking her in. Her blue eyes glistening against the shine from the sun going down. I couldn't help but take in how gorgeous she looked right now.

“ Let's go!” I said Turning around this is going to be a long night.

We drive all the way to town in silence, I can’t even bring myself to tell her she looks nice or ask her what she wants to eat. I choose the first Italian restaurant I see and park in the parking lot. Hopping out of the car I jog over to open her door for her. She smiles and walks in the restaurant beside me, letting me open doors. The hostess shows us to our table and hands us menus

“ This place is really fancy.” She mumbles

“ Is this okay?” I asked “ we can go somewhere else if you prefer”

“ this place fine I actually haven’t been here before” she smiled shyly

“ oh well I’m glad to enjoy this opportunity with you” I smirk

“ So why did you ask me out exactly?”

“ What do you mean?”

“ Look I know we are mates and all but you don’t seem very interested and that’s fine I wasn’t planning on having one anyways living out in the middle of nowhere kinda made that easy” she explained okay I won’t lie when I say that stung a bit.

“Oh um perfect! I plan on leaving tonight anyways we have all the cameras ups”

Well I guess that is that.

The rest of the evening was honestly nice. We spoke as friends instead of pushing the bond on each other. However, I can tell this is going to harder than it seems. The more time I spent with her the more attatched Max got to her wolf. He hasn't spoken to me all night after we agreed to keep the mating part under wraps. He was ready  to claim her right when we first laid eyes on her. But we have to respect her wishes and not take advantage of it. She deserves everything she's ever wanted in this world. And if that doesn't in clued me then so be it.
