I walked out of the room, my heart aching as I walked down the stairs, processing what she said.

The fact that her main aim was to break me was enough to actually do so.

The idea of me doing everything to satisfy her and getting this as a response was something that I couldn’t find myself accepting, and seeing as all my attempts have failed; I knew that I had to try a different method, one that would force her to give up. But I couldn’t think of anything that would do so without hurting her.

I entered my office and poured myself a drink, gulping it down before pouring another one.
