Scarlett:

I whimpered in pain as the doctor injected me with the IV to ensure my nutrition.

Having refused to eat, he didn’t expect me to eat anyway; Alexei called him here for help.

Alexei’s eyes were fixed on me, worry drawn over his expression as the doctor checked for my fever, then started passing a flashlight on my eyes, wanting me to follow it.

“Everything seems alright so far. But you still need to take things easy. The painkillers usually wear off wolves faster than humans; hence why you tend to need them every few hours. As for you wanting to sit up, get up, or even run, that is normal. Your wolf is on survival instincts despite being weak, and you getting worked up didn’t make things any easier on her as she seems to feel insecure” he said, looking at me. I looked down at my lap, nodding in understanding. I knew what she was feeling and I had a feeling that the doctor was well aware of that; his words were directed at Alexei, and not me.
