Jessy

The faint patter of the rain made me stir awake, my eyes fluttering open to take in my surrounding.

Arthur had his hands wrapped around me, restricting my movement, with his breathing steady against my chest. I drew in a deep breath, his cologne filling my senses with a comfort and familiarity I hadn’t felt in a long time.

As if sensing I was awake, he leaned back, withdrawing his weight from atop me, “Hey,” he called softly, his voice still deep with sleep. “Are you okay?” He asked, his worry evident in his dark gaze.

I shuddered slightly from the intensity in those eyes, looking away before finally speaking, “I’m alright now.”

He pressed the back of his free hand to my cheek, forcing me to meet his eyes. His hands felt very warm against my cold face and against my better judgement, I leaned into it.“Why did you wander into the woods, Jess?”

I swallowed, “I just…I just wanted to take a walk..” I lied, my answer coming in slow pauses.

He frowned, shaking his head slightly,

Arthur I laid there, curled up beside her, unable to take my eyes off her sleeping frame. Jess looked so fragile and beautiful in this state, with her chest heaving gently with every breath. She shifted beside me, but didn't wake up. I could feel her warm, soft skin against my own, and the heat of her body seeping through the thin shirt she wore. Her lips were parted slightly, pink from sleep, and her lashes cast shadows over her cheeks. A memory of the kiss we had shared in the cave made my entire body tingle. I couldn't stop thinking about it. About the way she felt against me, how our bodies connected so effortlessly. It all made my stomach tighten painfully. And even though I knew that I shouldn't be feeling anything like this towards her–– I couldn't help myself. My mind drifted momentarily to Lila. I had yet to hear from her. I sighed, gently placing a light kiss on Jess’ forehead before pulling away, and then slipping out from under the covers. She let out a soft whine a

I shifted closer as if hypnotized, my eyes never leaving his as I watched him move closer to me, his hands finding their way to the bottom of my chin, tilting my face back upwards so he was forced to look directly at me. He leaned in, his eyes fluttering close as his lips hovered inches above mine. His breath ghosted across my mouth, brushing lightly against my own as we held each other's gaze.A shudder ran down my spine as his hand slipped around the curve of my waist, holding me tight against him. He pressed his lips firmly against mine, moving softly against mine and without thinking, I let out a soft moan, opening my lips just enough for him to slip his tongue into my mouth and deepen the kiss. It was intense, demanding, and made my stomach flip over. A gasp escaped my parted lips as a burning desire pooled in my chest, consuming my body, my mind. Everything around me began to fade away as the urge to lose myself overtook me.A familiar emotion swept through me, the same I had f

ArthurThe vast field stretched before me, a sea of green under the clouding sky. I sighed, frowning lightly as the sound of Stephen’s bike coming to a halt echoed in the distance, interrupting the calmness that I was just starting to enjoy. I turned around, squinting in the direction of the noise, my frown deepening as I spotted him getting off the bike with Jessy by his side. They began walking towards me hand in hand. A trail of jealousy skittered down my spine, causing me to clench my fist involuntarily. She had a wide smile on her face and although they were still pretty far away from me, I could almost hear the giggle that escaped her lips when Stephen leaned in to whisper in her ears. The sight of them together never failed to make my blood boil. I hated it. No matter how much I tried to lie to myself that I didn’t care, it never worked. I hated seeing them together so much. The closer they got, the better I could see their faces and although Jessy still had a smile across h

Jessy The rays of sunshine filtered into the room, illuminating it. I stirred, wincing slightly as I searched blindly for my phone. It was just a little past 7AM, the park run wasn’t until another two hours and Stephen was coming to pick me up.I stretched lazily as I made my way out of my bed, slipping my feet into a comfortable pair of slippers before heading out of the room, “Lila?” I called, stifling a yawn.My voice echoed throughout the house but no response came. I knocked lightly on her door twice, before pushing it open and I frowned. Her bed was made, she didn't sleep in it.I felt my heart sink into my stomach, an anxious ache budding in my temple as I scurried back to my room in search of my phone.I called Lila immediately I picked up the device, but it went straight to voicemail. Panic set in and I could feel my fingers trembling.‘Call me…please.’ I typed quickly, hitting send and watching the message for a while.I called multiple times, all with the same result.

JessyThe café was almost empty, save for a few occupied tables. I bent over, humming a familiar tune as I wiped a table. The sound of the bell rang out faintly in my mind, announcing the entrance of someone. I straightened, turning as soon as the customer's chair scraped across the floor, I looked up from where I stood and locked eyes with Stephen. He was sitting, facing me with a wide grin etched on his face. His hair seemed slightly disheveled but for some weird reasons, I found that adorable. Stephen got to his feet, placing a pair of dark shades on the table. “You’re on time.” I greeted, walking into his open arms as I soaked in the warmth of his embrace. He stole a glance at the leather piece strapped to his wrist, “Actually, I’m seven minutes early.” His lips brushed against my hair as he spoke and I smiled. He had texted me earlier in the day to ask if we could hang out at my place right after work hours and I had said yes. Lila wouldn’t be home just yet and I could use a l
