Cassandra POV

"Send her to prison."

Those words hit me like a thunderbolt, I stared at the cold face of Brutus in disbelief. Not ready to process what he said just now.

I was standing in front of elders, like a culprit. The pack members who always watched me with respect, were glaring at me with disgust in their eyes.

"Brutus.. Brutus.." Tears streamed down my eyes. "Believe me, I didn't kill Alpha Bruno."

I was repeating it again and again. Dying for his single glance but he was not sparing that with me.

The eyes once I felt affectionate towards me, now seemed that all affection was dead. His eyes were emotionless and cold. He grabbed my chin.

"Really? Then why were you not on the stage but in his room holding a knife in your hand."

He spoke under the crushed teeth, jerking my face. His deadly voice sent shivers down my spine.

I quickly held his feet. Just thinking of being away from him kills me, I loved him by heart. Why would I try to kill his father whom he loved the most?

"Brutus, listen to me once. I was taking care of Alpha Bruno the day I married him. He was my father figure. I was his caretaker since he was paralysed. Why would I kill him?" I yelled, my voice was loud.

Brutus chuckled and raised my chin with the tip of his leather shoes. I see blood in his eyes.

"Do you have evidence for your innocence?" He asked.

I turned my head towards Evelyn, hoping that she would come ahead to my defence.

"Why are you even looking at me? I didn't send you to that room. I told you Alpha King Brutus is waiting for you on the stage." Evelyn denied it again.

"You are lying, It was you who sent me to Alpha Bruno's room.." I said, but before I could say anything. Aloha gestured at his Beta Fred and he approached me.

"Brutus, don't be this heartless. How could you do this to me? I am your mate, how can you not believe your mate but someone else.." I cried but Fred and Leo held me by the elbow and started taking me to the prison.

"Fred, Leo.. Stop it. I am still your Luna queen. You cannot disrespect me like this.." I shouted. My voice was so sharp that they quickly released my hand. I stood straight.

Brutus clenched his fist and approached me. If looks could kill, I would be dead by now.

"Who says you are still my Luna queen?" He chuckled, his eyes full of hatred. He snatched the crown from my hair causing me pain.

"Ahhh..." I screamed.

"You are no longer Luna, queen of the dark moon pack. This pack won't accept a killer as their Luna. Take her to the prison now."

Brutus' words were harsh. My crime wasn't proven yet he announced that I was a killer. How could he do this?

Fred and Leo grabbed my arms and dragged me to the prison. I held the bars, my throat sore from screaming. My voice faded in the darkness as everyone else left

I was still wearing my wedding gown which was specially approved by Alpha King Brutus. How everything changed in my life within an hour.

I still did not believe I was the happiest woman a while before.

Today we were marking three years of our marriage, Alpha King Brutus, my fated mate who I believe loved me so much. Alpha King Brutus held a huge party and called all the people from nearby kingdoms for the feast.

Alpha king Brutus was the most ruthless Alpha in the Alpha world, people even dared to call his name. Just like his name, he was the most Brutal person known for killing his enemy in the most brutal way. But he was kind to me. Perhaps I was the caretaker of his paralysed father for many years that's why.

I didn't know how but he slowly became my crush.

I was on cloud nine when on his eighteenth birthday, I turned out to be his fated mate. He didn't waste his time and marked me. People often say he married me because he loved his father the most and wanted me to be his lifetime caretaker.

But I thought he did it out of love. He treated me well. I became the Luna queen of the Dark Moon pack, but I had no idea the day would come when he would pull the same crown which he adored on my head.

My fate was so bad that I ended up here, in the dark prison. I lay on the concrete bench, closing my eyes. I just want to believe that it's just a nightmare, when I open my eyes everything will be the same as yesterday.

I heard the sound of a metal door, And I smiled.

"Brutus must have realised I am innocent and come to take me back.." I muttered and opened my eyes.

My smile immediately faded when I found a prison guard wearing a black uniform standing before me.

"This is your food.." She pushed a plate towards me.

"Take it back. I don't want to eat." I said, my heart was sinking. How could I eat when everything was shattered in my life?

"Next food will be tomorrow afternoon." She was about to leave. I stared at the food, feeling nauseous. But my stomach growled.

"Is it stale?" I asked her as I held a spoon in my hand. I didn’t know the prisoners in the dark moon pack were getting such food.

"What do you think? You will get a seven-star hotel cuisine here?"

The guards who respected me till morning have now become so rude. My stomach began growling.

"Whaak..." I threw up as soon as I brought the spoon to my mouth. I rushed to the toilet and leaned on the toilet bowl, throwing up everything I had in my stomach.

The guard rushed inside with a glass of water. She looked tense.

“When did you get your last period?” She asked me. My limbs froze at her words. I haven't had my period for two months. Watching my face, her eyes narrowed.

“Are you probably pregnant?” She asked me, I shook my head.

“I can’t digest stale food, that’s why I threw up.” I lied, She nodded and walked out of the prison.

I stood and watched myself in the mirror, my face turned so pale.

I rubbed my hand on my belly. and realised that it wasn’t just growling but actually the heartbeat of my pup

I must tell Brutus about this, I know he would be so happy. He would not let the mother of his pup rot in prison
