LISA

As I weeded the garden, the blazing sun beamed right on me.

Because Alpha Conan made sure of it while he sat on the garden bench under a shade to watch over my every action, Fred wasn't available to assist as he had promised.

Neither has food has been provided. I was weak, starving, and thirsty, but I wasn't allowed to relax or even get some water.

Joanna observed me labour from a distance of a few meters. She could tell I was tired by the look on my face, but she dared not give in to me in front of the alpha.

As I laboured against the resistant dirt, my calloused and fatigued palms gripped the gardening tool tightly with waning vigour as my back gave way in tiredness.

It didn't help that the sun was constantly glaring at me; it made my eyes tired.

My face was covered in sweat beads that mixed with the dirt to leave streaks on my brows.

I was too worn out to keep on. So I cursed at the alpha while sitting on the filthy ground and blamed the moon.
