Emily's POV

“Madam, good morning. It's good to see you're feeling better.” A familiar voice jutted me out of my blankness.

“Oh, hello. Good morning.” I stuttered.

“Are you feeling okay?” He asked.

It's that doctor who'd been treating me since Zyna assaulted me, Dr Lloyd.

“I'm not.” I confessed, but I was not willing to go beyond that.

What was I thinking when I sat through all that disrespect and let Lucas and Rayvn treat me that way?

I wanted to bite my lips so hard, but I'd done that in the car, and I had to use more tissues to wipe the bloodstain.

Somewhere in the midst of all the craziness, I summoned the strength to get up and drive myself, in Lucas' car to the hospital for my appointment.

“Let's get you some footwear, shall we?” He smiled, gently offering me his hand.

“I'm so sorry, I didn't realise…” I murmured as I looked down at my own feet and saw that I forgot to wear anything at all on my foot.

“That's alright. Let's go up.” He smiled wider as I to

Damon's POV The pump in Emily's walk got to me. Why was she so happy? I mean, I wanted her to be, but I wanted to be the reason too. “It's a good morning, I see.” I said. “Well, I'm trying to act like it.” She replied. “How was your night?” I asked, drawing her windows. “It was alright.” His answers were short, forced and vague. I was tempted to suspect something was off, but I guess not everyone is chirpy in the mornings. “Hope the place doesn't feel too lonely?” I asked. “You know I could always get company if I wanted one.” She sounded a little too full of herself. “Sure. Have a nice day.” I excused myself. I retreated to where I should've been in the test place, my office. A pop up notification caught my attention. “Emergency security meeting.” The heading read. I didn't bother opening it. What could that mean? I picked up my phone and called Lucas right away. “Anything I should know of?” I asked Lucas when he took the second ring. “You will, by

Adrian's POV “Did I say how much I missed sleeping next to you?” I asked, snapping out of the sleep and wake cycle I'd been in since last night. “This has to be the millionth time. I'm beginning to doubt you.” Emily snuggled. “I still don't feel like I've said only enough though.” I sat upright and took a glimpse at her full form laying there with me to make sure I wasn't dreaming. “You're making me nervous.” She squeaked. “Sorry, I can't help it. You're my only dream that has come true.” I smiled boyishly. “I'll take that with a grain of salt.” She said, “When do you have to be in the office?” I asked her. “Not before ten am.” She replied. “Damon cut you some slack, I see.” I observed. “Yeah, he's been really nice.” She said, “Good for you.” My reply was curt, not how I wanted it to be. “A good work environment is always nice.” I added to soften things up. “Yeah, I think you should probably get going.” She said, “So soon?” I asked, with shaky br

Lucas POV “And to what do I owe this call, sergeant?” I grunted as I picked up the phone. “The locals at the edge of town say they’ve heard the same kind of noises, for the third night in a row.” He reported. “What?” I asked, half awake. “I got here as soon as I could , sir, everywhere looked quiet, like usual. But they swear they heard noises. “How many of them??” I asked him. “We have about four families here sir.” He replied to me. “Well, that many people cannot be mad at once. Take them in, make them comfortable, I'm gonna need to ask them some questions.” I instructed and cut the phone. “What the hell now?” I sighed to myself. I spent the lonely night tossing and turning, that's was of course when I wasn't just wide awake thinking about what things have become. If things were really gonna be like this, with Emily at the centre of our lives, then we should be cut some slack and allowed to look out once in a while. With those thoughts in mind, I got out of bed

Emily's POV “Can I take you home?” Damon asked. I was just toying with the idea of taking the twenty minute walk instead of driving there. “I'm thinking of walking. It's been a while since I walked free. I should be allowed to do that.” I smiled stiffly. “Sure, sure,” Damon saidThe office was a lot more quiet now, many of the staff had begun to find their way home.My apartment wasn't so far from the office, it was an arrangement I preferred in the morning but hated at night. Up until that point, I'd been avoiding my subconscious thoughts. I wanted to cast all the thoughts behind, but they couldn't help creeping back to the surface. I was with Damon almost all day, and as head of marketing, I reported directly to him. I can't deny the heat of his stare on my body, the look of longing in his eyes while I talked figures and shit.I finally pulled up in my garage, only a five minute drive.A splitting headache seared through my skull and I knew it was time to use my suppl

Lucas’ POV “We didn't know you'd be back so early.” Lucas said, getting up from her front desk. “Emily didn't tell me you'd be coming in this morning.” Damon said. With every breath, it smelled more like a bar than a woman's office. “Are you sure you're okay?” I asked him. “I'm still seeing you here, so I'm not.” He replied. “I can't help that.” I said. “Why don't you let us take this to your office?” I asked. “Sure.” He replied, to my surprise. Emily's head shut up from the computer she’d busied herself with, acting busy and non-chalant. “Lead the way.” I said to him, We were soon out of her office, and like I'd been expecting, Damon didn't suddenly turn back and claw at my neck. With every step I took behind him, I felt a little more safer, but not safe enough to totally let go of my senses. “Sit.” He said. “I'm drunk enough to engage you.” “is it really that bad?” I asked him. “Worse.” He said. “I feel this pull, very helplessly, and I can't fight

  • Alpha Damon And Emily, His Contract Luna    Chapter 145

Damon's POV “Good morning.” Emily greeted, as she walked into the office on leopard skin pumps. She looked very bright and full of life. I, on the other hand, was barely holding up. I'd seen better days. “Good morning Emily.” I greeted her. “I'll have someone bring you up to speed up with everything that has happened.” “That's kind, thank you.” She smiled briefly. “Anytime.” I acknowledged, staring and holding her eyes a little longer than usual. But they'd lost the glow they used to have for only me. Or maybe it was still there, just not for me anymore. “Want some coffee?” I asked her, breaking the ice that was slowly building. “Coffee, yes. But no company.” She stated. “Asides me, of course. I'll have it delivered to my office. Be there in three.” I said and walked away. That single statement made my testosterone levels soar. I was beginning to feel like a man in her presence, and she didn't fight it. Well even if she'd tried to, I was far gone. I'd long
