************* *"That man is an asshole, he never treated me well. He hit me and just got drunk. I accidentally killed him, please help me.” Diana could only sigh. This was no easy case. Diana's client this time was a wife who killed her husband because of domestic violence. On the one hand Diana felt sorry to hear her life story, but on the other hand she couldn't help anything, because she was only a interpreter. All decisions are in the hands of the judge. *"We will try to provide the best solution.” That was all Diana could confirm. Then her client was taken away by the custody guard. Huft, this was one of the hardest days for her while working as a interpreter at the courthouse. Besides, she felt unwell since morning. Unfortunately, her phone died just as she was about to order a taxi to go home since she didn't bring a car today. Diana used her blazer to run through the rain. She had to get home before it was past curfew at home. So when a taxi pulled up in front of her, she quickly got in. The taxi door was immediately locked which left Diana confused. She looked at the taxi driver in the rearview mirror to protest but saw someone else behind her instead. Suddenly, a cold thing touched Diana's neck. That's when she realized it was a knife and she was in danger. Diana tried to see the faces of the driver and someone else behind her, but she couldn't recognize them because they were wearing masks. “Don't try to rebel or this knife will pierce your neck,” the kidnapper threatened. Diana held her breath, her hands shaking with fear. The taxi started moving, taking Diana away from the office area. Diana held her phone tightly. She didn't know if there was someone who would save her. “I'll call Alpha Darren. Your life depends on the decision he makes.” The kidnapper laughed with satisfaction next to Diana's ear. It surprised Diana to no end because no one knew that her husband was Alpha Darren, the leader of Pack Kyne, because she was the hidden Luna, the one the public had been looking for all this time. A call was connected. The kidnapper put his phone in front of Diana's eyes so that she finally knew that the kidnapper was really dialing Alpha Darren's number. The call was finally picked up. [Who?] asked Alpha Darren in his cold, stern voice. Diana could only stare at the phone screen while hoping in her heart that Alpha Darren would agree to whatever the kidnapper asked. Honestly, Diana was scared that they would kill her. Diana didn't want to die yet because there was still someone who needed her. The kidnapper laughed and increased the volume of the call. “I am with your wife now, Diana Genevieve. She's in front of me and frightened as hell.” In fact, Alpha Darren's response was not what Diana expected. Diana thought Alpha Darren would be very worried but instead he laughed. [You're with my wife? Do you even know who my wife is? The whole country doesn't even know who she is. Stop making stupid calls or you will be arrested and put in jail.] The disconnected call made Diana's breath catch. She shook her head and covered both ears in frustration. “What the hell! Speak clearly, get to the point you idiot! We have to get the money!” The fake taxi driver snapped at the man who had a knife pointed at Diana's neck. Diana held her breath as the knife accidentally hit her ear and cut a few strands of her hair when the man pulled his hand to contact Alpha Darren again. “I'll try again.” The man contacted Alpha Darren again. A few seconds passed, and the call was finally picked up. Diana could breathe a little as there was still hope for her to be saved. “I'm not messing with my words. If your wife can talk, then I'll tell her to talk right now.” The kidnapper laughed like crazy again. Diana closed her eyes as the knife was again aimed at her neck. She wasn't afraid of death, but she was afraid of leaving the people she loved. Diana's tears finally fell. [You just need money. Work instead of making trouble with me because the punishment is more severe than you can imagine. You'll be finished if you play around with me.] “Wait! Don't hang up!” The fake driver shouted. “We're really with your wife. She didn't bring the car today because it's being repaired due to a minor accident that happened yesterday. Is this enough to make you believe that I'm with your wife?” At first Diana thought this kidnapper was one of the enemies her husband was dealing with, as he was working on a case at the Pack border. But the two kidnapper explanations made Diana very curious about who they really were. Because, they knew about her relationship with Alpha Darren and also knew about her activities. That meant they had most likely been stalking Diana all along and were nearby. That's what Diana thought. [Go ahead and build your story. That's enough fooling around.] “We want 10 million dollars. That way we'll release your Luna,” threatened the man with the knife. Again Alpha Darren laughed, he still thought the kidnappers were lying. [That's all? You lowlifes dare to give such a low price for my Luna! If I were you, I'd ask for more money. You punk.] “Damn the call is cut off! He turned off his phone!” This man behind Diana looked very frustrated. And so was Diana. She really didn't expect that the man she married on contract would break his promise to protect her from any danger. In fact, when Diana was really in danger, Alpha Darren was not there for her. “Fuck you bastard Alpha Darren!” Diana shouted very loudly releasing all her anger. The two men who kidnapped Diana were shocked that she could speak. They only knew that Diana was mute. But they didn't know that Diana has selective mutism, where Diana only talks to people she chooses and in certain situations like this, when she's very depressed. “Call him again! Make a video call! I want you to call him again!” Diana shouted. She grabbed the phone and dialed Alpha Darren, but Alpha Darren's phone was already switched off. The kidnappers laughed as they discovered new facts about Diana, while Diana vented her anger by hitting the head of the passenger seat in front of her until it came off. “What the hell, you can talk, it's amazing. What's the game going on here?” asked the fake driver in astonishment. Diana clenched her fists at her sides. Even in an emergency like this she had no one to ask for help. She had always been alone and that was what made her feel sorry for herself. Diana looked at the two kidnappers with deep resentment. “You should have asked for more so he wouldn't turn off his phone.” Then she kicked the fake driver in the neck and elbowed the man in the back seat in the head simultaneously. They both fainted and Diana went out to escape. But Diana's legs were so weak that she fell and broke her heels. Diana sobbed under the rain. She patted her tight chest. She also screamed her heart out. The knife wound on her ear faded away because she had the ability to heal. That's why she wasn't afraid of death. Diana stood up again and staggered towards a bigger road. Then she sat on the side of the road while burying her face in the folds of her legs. All the frustration and pain that she couldn't vent all this time finally came out along with the falling rain. She gripped her phone tightly. “I should have realized that you don't really care about me. You pretended to care because I was the tool you kept to fight them.” Diana beat her chest again. She was finding it increasingly difficult to breathe due to hyperventilating. She tried to stand up and cross the street when she saw a car passing in the opposite direction to call for help. But then she fell because the heels she was wearing were broken. Diana stared at the asphalt and the scars on her palms. She ignored the pain until the rain suddenly stopped pouring down on her. Diana looked up as shiny black shoes stopped in front of her. Alpha Darren crouched down and helped Diana to get up. He hugged Diana tightly and gently stroked her hair. He didn't say anything so Diana pushed him away. Fortunately it was raining, so Diana didn't have to worry about Alpha Darren knowing she was crying. Diana didn't want to look weak in front of Alpha Darren. “Are you okay?” Alpha Darren asked. But then he saw the blood on Diana's palm. “You're hurt.” Diana pulled her hand away from Alpha Darren. She looked at him with those pierced eyes. Although she didn't say a word, Diana's expression was enough to represent what she was feeling right now. “Good thing you're wearing the ring. Don't ever take it off, it's traceable, so I'll know where you are.” He pushed back the wedding ring that was about to fall off Diana's finger. Diana turned her face away and smiled discordantly. She didn't even know there was a tracking device on her wedding ring. And also what made Diana even more furious was Alpha Darren's deliberation. *"You can still say good thing? If you knew my whereabouts, why didn't you come to save me? Why didn't you get suspicious when I wasn't on the road that usually leads to your house? You deliberately wanted me to die at the hands of that kidnapper?” Alpha Darren pulled Diana's hand as she was about to walk away. “I only believed it when they told me that you couldn't talk. Only our family knows that my wife is you and can't talk. So I left the emergency meeting about the attack on the border by another Pack and came looking for you.” *“It's too late, I don't need your help to save me anymore,” Diana replied. Then she took out a wet brown folder from her bag. She threw the folder to Alpha Darren. Alpha Darren opened the folder and tightened his jaw when he realized it was divorce papers. *"I want to divorce. No need to worry about the penalty f*e, I'll pay it,” Diana bravely decided. Because she was so tired of this life, she wanted to end it all.The three people who helped Diana search for Alpha Darren all this time all gaped when they saw the man returning to his home. Especially when he came in with a smile and holding hands with Diana. "Diana, I told you to take a vacation but you came with him? How the hell did you find him?" George immediately got excited and even pulled Diana because he still didn't think Alpha Darren was okay. Because honestly George had given up hope that the man could return safely. "Luna..." Canis covered her mouth with her hand. "I wasn't dreaming was I? You managed to find Alpha Darren!"Diana smiled and nodded. Then the most fun was when Cedric suddenly hugged Alpha Darren right away. He even hugged him tightly and patted his boss on the back. "I'm so happy you're okay, boss."Seeing this, Diana and Alpha Darren laughed. Alpha Darren pushed Cedric away. "Now you've seen me again. And yeah, I wasn't hurt, I wasn't kidnapped, I disappeared because I wanted to."If Cedric and Canis could refrain
"Now you're satisfied after driving me crazy for a month, huh!" Diana shouted at the top of her lungs in his face. She was venting all the emotions that had been running wild all month. But she was also very grateful that she could still see him again. He hadn't left her forever, which made her anger slowly erode. "Diana, could you stretch your arms around my neck a little? I'm starting to feel suffocated now," Darren said. He wasn't lying, his face was flushed, his breathing labored. "I'm going to choke you until you can't breathe!" Finally, because Diana wouldn't let go of her hands around his neck, he was forced to kiss her on the lips. And it did make her release her grip. The brief kiss was interrupted when Alpha Darren withdrew and helped Diana to sit up. Now they sat facing each other on the bed with their knees touching, separated only by their clothes. "Now, are you done venting your anger at me? Can I talk now?"Diana was silent, even so she was still pouty and her a
DIANAI realized that the perfume I smelled was probably because I was expecting Darren to show up. Because in fact I was alone on the beach earlier. Just me and the sound of the waves, nothing else. So I could conclude that I was hallucinating again. Therefore, I went back to the inn. I didn't want to indulge my hallucinations by doing something I would regret later. When I arrived at the inn, I no longer smelled Darren's perfume, but the loneliness I felt was growing. This place was secluded because it was only used as a tourist destination, so it was very quiet except inside each room. I should be enjoying this situation, the clear night sky with many stars, but I can't. I don't know why I'm like this. I've lost my sense, feeling more and more empty. Is it because of Darren? I'm not sure either. Ugh, I can't think about him too much. No matter how much guilt there is, I still have to take my mind off of him. Because he would surely be very happy if he saw me frantic like t
George tripped over his own feet while running to the hospital to see Diana. He had gotten word from Canis that after the meeting, Diana had fainted. Without thinking twice, George left what he was doing to go see his sister's condition. As a result, here he was, opening the door to Diana's infirmary room with a pale face. "Diana!"Meanwhile, Diana was already conscious. While wearing an IV in her hand, it turned out that she still took the time to review the document with Canis who was waiting for her. George immediately grabbed the document and handed it to Canis. "What are you doing? You're punishing yourself by pushing your body to work beyond its limits? You know, by doing so, the guilt you feel won't go away, Diana.""Give it back," Diana said flatly. Although Diana wasn't a person who liked to show various kinds of expressions and emotions before, now it was even worse, she seemed to have no interest in anything anymore, just going about her days for all the obligations tha
DIANAIt's been 10 days since Darren disappeared. And I still had no idea what had happened to him. I couldn't sleep or eat anything, all I could think about was where he was and how he was doing. Guilt consumed me every day and it got worse by the day. Darren, please wherever you are, if you really love me, please come back. I'm so tired of managing everything, I need him. I only realized this when he wasn't around. Darren was right that he wasn't vocal in his support of me. When he wasn't present in my days, I just felt something was missing. I don't know what this feeling is, but I want to see him. Could it be that I miss him? But 10 days ago it felt like I really wanted him to stay away from me. So what's wrong with me?In addition to the headacheinducing business in the pack, I also had to keep giving excuses to everyone who asked about Darren's whereabouts. I had to lie to them that Darren was having other business outside the pack that I wasn't sure when it would be fini
Her breath caught in her throat as she arrived in front of Fred's apartment building. She'd called the man but he hadn't picked up. It made her suspect that Alpha Darren's absence from the house until this morning had something to do with Fred. Diana ran to the front desk, startling the staff on duty."Is there anything I can help you with, Luna?""I need to know Fred Jack Houston's unit number, it's important, so please let me know. He's working on a confidential case, please."Seeing how Diana pleaded, the receptionist became reluctant. "Luna, you don't have to beg, I'll tell you." She checked the computer. "Mr. Houston lives on the 15th floor, unit number 151.""Thank you." Diana immediately ran to the elevator and headed to the location she had been told. She also didn't stop to call Alpha Darren, hoping by some miracle the call would pick up. "Don't drive me crazy, Darren. Come on, answer the call. You're not usually like this. You're always back home no matter how late it is.
