I watched it in slow motion. Ricky had broken free of Aamon’s Alpha presence and shifted, running toward us. Aamon had taken over completely. I saw it in his eyes and in the presence. There were a few moments I could feel Desmond as he tried to fight through the power of his wolf. He lost though. He had jumped, his jaws open as Ricky jumped from the side, trying to get between us. Desmond might have tried to stop but I knew Aamon wouldn’t. Marcus had talked about him the last few times we had spoken.
