To say that I froze was not going to be a lie. I didn’t even know what to think of saying at this point, and I knew that Diego understood that.

The fact that someone, just one person, was willing to be there for me regardless of the circumstance, was something that I didn’t expect after my father passed away.

And the fact that he was my ‘mate’ only made this harder for me to stop myself from admitting to him that he was my significant other. The man that did not even feel our mating bond in the same way that I felt toward him.
