MasukTHE HALL looked magnificent. Like something out of a fairytale.
The House of Veylor was filled with invited guests from all the other kingdoms, except the DragonBorns of course. For the past six centuries, the other kingdoms in the supernatural realm had remained subservient to the Werewolves. "Your turn." Om'zaar said to Vaelora. She was draped in a gold and white dress, fit for a queen. But she was broken. Angry. Bitter. Draekon just had a way of elevating her from one nightmare to another. And he always managed to look put together while at it. "I, Vaelora Hugo," Om'zaar led. "I, Vaelora Hugo." She repeated. "Take Draekon Noir, my gift of a lifetime from the moon goddess." "Take Draekon Noir, my gift of a lifetime from the moon goddess." She doused the urge to scoff at that point. "To love and to be bound under the grace of the moon goddess." "To love and to be bound under the grace of the moon goddess." "Until death do us part." "Until death do us part." She finished, locking her empty gaze to that of Draekon. Vaelora meant nothing of the vows she had just taken, but it wasn't like he cared so much. Moreover, he knew he'd never want or love any other woman the way he loved Amelia. He was only marrying Vaelora to keep things in check, within the council. He wasn't oblivious. His initial decision to take a DragonBorn chosen mate had caused a silent upheaval within the council. Of course, many were not okay being ruled by a DragonBorn as Luna queen. With the moon goddess' 'timely intervention' of bringing his second chance werewolf mate along, he was only going to cause more uproar by rejecting their bond. He was the most feared ruler across the seven kingdoms, and could do as he pleased. But he still had a duty to serve his people. As chief Om'zaar took each of their right palms, slicing through with a very sharp blade, Vaelora wondered how her life had gotten to this. "Place your bleeding palms against each other's." Om'zaar demanded. Placing her bloodied palm against Draekon's, she instantly felt her heart clench in inexplicable excitement. The look in Draekon's eyes conveyed that he also felt the shift. They had just solidified their first bonding phase, and it did feel different. For Vaelora, she felt infuriatingly closer to him. She hated that she actually had no control over this. She could only pray that overtime, this cursed bond wouldn't drown the one real thing she still felt towards Draekon. Hate. "Under the authority of the moon goddess, the witness of the council of chiefs, and in the presence of the werewolf kingdom and other present kingdoms, you're now husband and wife. You may kiss your bride." Even after the instruction, Draekon remained unmoving, hating the tiny feeling of fear that breezed across his mind. Vaelora looked like she could slap him in the presence of these people, if he dared. Almost immediately, he slightly shook his head in disbelief. It had to be that shift in their bond. It just had to be. It was casting a veil over his real feelings. He was never scared of anyone, and he could care less what anybody thought of his actions. Ignoring the icy stare Vaelora shot him, he stepped closer, leaning down to place the softest kiss against her lips. "Haa...." An almost inaudible sigh escaped Vaelora's lips, as soon as the tingles began to spread from her lips, all over her face. She had only ever felt that way for one man - Dione. And today, her body betrayed her in the most devastating way. Draekon quickly stepped away, not liking the way his face instantly felt flush after feeling her warm breath against his lips. They locked gazes again, so many conflicting emotions in each their eyes. Somehow, they both knew they were doomed. ********************** It had been a very tiring day, and Draekon released a yawn as he strode into his quarters. The sentinels stationed at the entrance of his chambers gave a bow immediately they saw him coming along, opening the doors of his chambers. Draekon made his way in, the sentinels closing the door behind him. He stopped in his tracks when he made out Vaelora's sleeping figure on his large bed. It had probably not registered to him that they would both share his chambers from now on. In that moment, a mild familiar scent filtered through his nostrils. He hated how much he actually.... liked that scent. It was Vaelora's. She had always smelled that way for as long as he could remember. It was a brilliant combination of grapes and...... Even until now, the second was a lingering mystery. Something elusive.... like wild Jasmine. He proceeded towards the bed, seeing she was quite deeply asleep. She was still in her ceremonial dress, her thick black tresses sprawled all over the pillows. His usually dimly lit room was at least, bright enough to make out her face. Her face was puffy, and the skin around her closed eyes was quite tender from crying. He released a low sigh. Even though Vaelora had been able to put up a bold front in the presence of their guests, he knew she had broken down as soon as she got into their chambers. She had left as soon as the joining ritual was done, not showing her face for the rest of the ceremony. He wondered if marrying Vaelora was the best decision. He could have easily severed their bond, regardless of the internal chaos it would have caused within the council. After all, no one dared question him to his face. But then, he couldn't admit to the fact that..... The beast within him wished to keep her grounded. He knew he had hurt her enough, but he just couldn't help this wicked and primal urge of wanting to..... He wasn't sure if he wanted to possess her, or completely consume her. He'd never really understood it, but what he did know, was that he was cruel. Wicked. As he headed to the bath chambers for a bath, he thought about Om'zaar's words to Vaelora only a week ago. Om'zaar thought their bond was predestined. Now that Draekon thought about it, it felt.... strange? For inexplicable reasons, Vaelora had always found herself at the receiving end of his cruelty. Even when he wasn't even trying to be cruel, she always ended up hurt. Everyone truly thought he enjoyed to bully her, including his father and brothers. Draekon and Vaelora had found their first mates on the same day. Nine years ago. It had been a few weeks after her sixteenth birthday. While he married his mate; Amelia, Vaelora couldn't marry Dione, for she was only but sixteen. Too young to have been mated. Her father; Beta Hugo had insisted she waited until she turned eighteen, before she could marry Dione. When Vaelora turned eighteen, plans for her wedding to Dione set in. But then, Draekon...... killed Beta Hugo. It was an accident. One that had left Vaelora completely broken, and ruined the existing plans of her wedding to Dione, which was supposed to be a few weeks ahead. As the water from the shower cascaded down Draekon's head, it purged his thoughts. Draekon didn't know about their bond being predestined. But it sure as hell, was catastrophic. And worst of all, he was beginning to crave it - The wicked things he could do to her.VAELORA had her eyes stuck to the book on her thighs, consuming its contents as her hand leisurely made its way into Draekon's full mass of hair. Almost immediately, she realized herself and pulled away. "Why?" Came Draekon's sleepy voice. She sat frozen on her side of the bed, looking down at him. He had laid on his back, his face looking up at the ceilings. "I'm sorry... didn't realize when I did." She whispered. Draekon doused the urge to groan. These days, he found himself being simply content with just being in her space. He realized he didn't have to be fucking her or doing anything erotic, before he could find satisfaction. But then, he knew that was weird. Weird because he had never felt that way about any woman. He always believed that the only form of emotional connection between a man and woman, was sex. This was all new. Almost as though, he was growing a friendship with her. Truly, he found himself only willing to tolerate another person's presence long
FOR DAYS since they had returned to Blood Crescent, Rebekah remained in doors in her chambers. She hadn't even stepped out to attend the welcome dinner that was hosted last night, to celebrate her return as Luna. Just then, a light knock came on the door. She didn't feel inclined to respond. Nonetheless, the door was pushed open and her mother walked in. She stood in the middle of the room, staring at the bed where her daughter laid with her turned to the door. "My dear." She called. Hearing her voice, Rebekah turned immediately. "Mother." "Oh, my sweet girl." She cooed, covering the distance to the bed and pulling Rebekah into a much needed hug. "Mother..." Rebekah whispered, too tired to cry or sob. Her eyes were sunken, and her face pale. "Heyyy. I'm so sorry I haven't come to see you since you returned few days ago. I was out of the province with your father. We just returned today, and I came as soon as Jerian told me." Her brothers, Jerian and Khazan, had
"What do you want to know?" Solena asked. "Everything." Vaelora replied. "Okay..." Solena muttered. "My biological mother was an omega." "Your biological mother?" Vaelora asked, slightly confused. "Yes." Solena nodded. "I'm Chief Toi'fah's illegitimate daughter. He had an affair with one of the omegas working in his residence, and I was the product." After a few seconds, Solena shook her head in negation. "I wouldn't really call it an affair. She was a slave, and she had no choice. He took advantage of her." "I'm so sorry, Solena." Vaelora whispered. "It's fine." Solena gave a sad smile. "Ever since she left, it's been so difficult living with my father, seeing as he could no longer leave me in the slave quarters, because of my disability." "Your mother left? Where to?" "She died last year." Solena filled in, and Vaelora went silent. She felt so stupid in that moment. "Oh, goddess. I'm..." "It's fine." Solena rushed out, giving a reassuring smile. "I mean, I was
VAELORA walked back to her chambers, Danika following behind. She felt unsteady for a slight moment, her thoughts discombobulated. The moment she got to the entrance of her chambers, she turned to Danika. "See to it that she has everything she needs, Danika. Everything." Vaelora ordered. "Yes, Luna." Danika bowed, going on her way. Vaelora hadn't been able to say any other word, the moment she realized Solena was blind. She was shocked. Beyond shocked! She couldn't believe her family were so unkind, as to have sent her here! Were they so desperate?! The doors opened and Vaelora stepped into the chamber, her face pale. "You look like you just saw a ghost." Draekon muttered, still sore about the earlier interruption during their joy session. "I didn't see a ghost, Draekon. I saw Lady Solena Toi'fah." She replied, settling on the bed beside him. Somehow, he didn't make a move to pull her back to their previous business, as if knowing she was no longer in the mood fo
FEELING REFRESHED, Zentrakii walked down the hallway, heading back to Zayn's chambers. Per his instructions, she had stayed back at the servants' quarters the entire day, finally able to get some reasonable sleep, after nights of sleeping on the floor of Zayn's chambers. When she got to the door, the sentinels announced her presence, and she raised a brow when a muffled 'let her in', was heard from inside. Making her way in, her eyes fell on the bed and her breathe hitched. Right in the middle of the bed, was Zayn in a sitting position, firmly holding the waist of a naked woman who rode him so sensually. She had long blonde curly tresses, which fell over her face and down her back like melted gold. Her face was covered by her full hair, so Zentrakii couldn't really make out her face. Zentrakii stood in her spot, unmoving. Her heart started to beat unevenly, and she stumbled backwards in an attempt to leave. But her back unceremoniously hit the door, causing her to let
BY MORNING, Zentrakii’s palms had broken badly. The needles created several open sores, and some of them bled lightly. Still, with heavy eyes, she didn't stop stitching. While Zayn slept peacefully on his bed, Zentrakii was busy stitching up the remaining clothes belonging to the sentinels and her fellow maids. Zayn had warned her to finish stitching up all the clothes by dawn. Failure to do so, and he was going to let her feel his wrath. She thought all he had put her through within the past week was his 'wrath'. If he still spoke about some other 'wrath', then she best wanted to avoid it. She wasn't interested in knowing what could be worse than her current predicament. Tears fell from her eyes as she weakly passed the needle through the last piece piece of clothing, for its final stitch. Once she was done, she let the her exhaustion take over, and her eyes closed in slumber. Not long after, Zayn woke up, hopping down his bed and making his way straight towards
