Ch 5

Alessia’s POV

“She is no one important. So, ignore her” before I could take a step further he added “It was my dad’s request. I had to obliged to get her in my car” he explained. Calm down, Alessia. You know the true nature of this relation. You are chosen mates. There is nothing wrong if he seems to be least interested. Squaring my shoulders, I stepped inside. The ten or so members who were present turned to me.

There was one girl who stood up with a glint of dislike in her eyes. Great, not even a day and I already have someone who dislikes me.

“Who are you?”

“Were you invited?” She looked the same age as me. With her brunette hairs, she was a definite beauty. Her gaze was sharp as she took me in. As if measuring my worth to be Ezekiel’s chosen mate.

“Hi, I am Alessia Romano” I looked towards Ezekiel. He was casually sitting on the sofa and not bothering to introduce me. Fine, this is how it is going to be.

“I am Ezekiel’s chosen mate. If you were not informed before, I got an invite from Ezekiel” everyone turned towards him. He did not bother replying and carried on sipping from his drink. I took a deep breath at his audacity to invite me and make me feel unwanted.

“It is said, first impression is last impression. The party started one hour ago and you are already late. So, only if you pass the dare will you be allowed to stay” I was least interested in this so-called party of theirs. But for appearances sake, I had to suck it up. I am not someone to be easily bullied. My parents would be disappointed if they found out I was bullied and did not give it back to them.

“And what would be the dare?” I glanced around with obvious intent. Some of them were enjoying this will while the very introverts avoided my gaze. Ezekiel had no expression whatsoever. And this girl standing in front of me, she seemed to be very hostile towards me, reasons unknown to me for now.

“You will have to play a challenging game” she smirked. I knew it was not going to be a simple game.

“Come, we will explain the details” the boys had a smirk. 

“Bring it on” I passed them a tight-lipped smile.

“So, here are the rules, we will take a tissue paper and pass it around. Whoever fails to do so and not carry till the end, they will have to kiss their front partner” she explained.

“So, you mean to say I will only be accepted by this simple game?” I raised my eyebrows at them.

“What’s the catch?” I looked around.

“The tissue will be passed through the mouth” I clicked my tongue. My gaze moved towards Ezekiel. Does he want his mate to take part in such kind of game? Does it not bother him that if I failed, I will have to kiss any guy who is in front of me. Someone cleared their throat and I snapped back to reality. 

I was made to sit between two guys who seemed perverts because they were the ones fighting to sit ahead of me. I groaned inwardly for being stuck here out of all the places.

Five to six of them agreed to join the game for fun. 

“Start” the brunette whose name I am yet to know, passed the tissue to one of the girls. 

The said girl placed the tissue in her mouth and passed it to the guy in front of her through her mouth. My eyes widened when I saw that half of the tissue was gone. Three members until it reached. There were loud cheers as the guy passed it to another girl who was blushing so hard. I could see their lips almost touching. My heartbeat increased as the girl finally passed to the guy beside me. It was a small piece of paper in his mouth. 

I realized that no matter how I try, I will end up touching his lips. Ezekiel was least bothered so I decided to take it in a stride and complete the game.

There were loud cheers going on. Some were teasing the guy to take the chance while others were daring me to complete it. I leaned forward and so did the guy. I am sure if it was silent, everyone would have heard my heart beating fast.

My eyes were on the tissue and everyone else’s eyes were on the both of us. As I leaned further close, there was no space between us. I closed my eyes when our lips were almost touching. I did not let it bother me as I tore the smallest piece of paper with my mouth.

“Oh” not many were happy when I successfully took the tissue. At least now I don’t have to kiss anyone. If the front guy fails to take the tissue, he will have to kiss the next person.

I turned around and faced the next guy. He looked creepier then the first guy. I could not even breath as I was holding the piece of tissue. It was not even visible, that’s how small it was. I held it between my teeth and tried to pass it to the guy.

“Kiss… kiss” the others started chanting. And before I could comprehend what was happening, the guy took my lips in a sealed kiss. I was momentarily left speechless. When my senses kicked in, I tried to push him away but he was forcefully trying to kiss me deeper.

Suddenly the guy was yanked away from my person. Coughing out loud, I threw the tissue out of my mouth. I saw it was none other than Ezekiel. Now he comes to the rescue.

“You okay?” he turned to me.

I had a sudden burst of anger coursing through my veins and I slapped him right across the face.

“Alessia, you” he growled at me. His eyes flashing dangerously as he stared at me. I was still breathing hard with the after effects of the drama that just unfolded.

“What?” I snapped not being able to control my anger.

The next thing I know, I was drenched in cold liquid. My hairs were sticky and so was my face with the red wine he just threw on my face. Some gasped in shock while some were enjoying this between us. The brunette was the one who seems to enjoy this too much for my liking.

“You should have not bothered inviting me if you were going to be this despicable” my voice came out grating. I did not want to go down this road, but he was smart to manipulate this situation by taking my parents permission. 

“If you know how to bully others, remember to face the same welcome. I won’t sit back and let you guys bully me. If you hurt me, I will do something which will hurt you tenfold. And that won’t be these stupid pranks” without a warning, I splashed the whole coke bottle on his face and stalked out of there with my head held high. For one I was glad that I did not let them put me down.

I stepped out of the two storey building after being humiliated and walked down the front steps. I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not see the front person. I collided in him and was about to fall down when he caught me.

I came back to my senses when he smelled someone familiar. With my eyes widened in shock, I looked up. Things could not have been worse because it turns out to be none other than Oliver.

“Oh, if it isn’t the miss goody two shoes” he commented as he dropped me unceremoniously on the ground. I must have done something bad in my past life to encounter the shit. I groaned as I fell on my hands. I could hear a crack as my left wrist started hurting. Slowly I got up and glowered at him.

“Get lost” when I was trying to walk past him, he stepped in front of me. He kept doing that until I got frustrated and snapped my head at him.

“Am I speaking foreign language to you?” I grit my teeth at him.

“Someone seems pissed off. Did they bully you?” he smirked pointing towards the house.

“None of your business” with that said, I tried to walk past him but once again he held my already hurting hand.

“Did you realize your worth?” his eyes turned dark.

“I don’t need some piece of shit’s words to realize my worth. And you better stay the hell away from me” with that said I yanked my hand out of his grasp and walked ahead. I stopped short when he said 

“He won’t be interested in someone like you. I am sure you might have already realized that today” I could hear the gloating arrogance in his voice. He seems to be enjoying this far too much. I knew he was talking about Ezekiel. They were best friends after all. I whirled around and smiled at him. A smile so evil that no one would want to be on my dark side.

“News flash. I don’t care. Nor does he have a choice. We are chosen ones for a reason. Looks like you are going to lose, small guy” I laughed at the obvious insult as I looked at his small possession. His eyes darkened as he realized what I was referring too. As I had left him momentarily speechless, I decided to make myself scarce. 

I walked in fast pace towards the woods. The moment I reached there, I started running and shifted mid-air. Running is the only thing which will calm down my anger. And whenever I am sad, I either go shopping or cook something sweet to boost my mood.

It took me ten minutes to reach my territory and take a dip. The lake was enclosed in total darkness. But I could see clearly with my werewolf vision. There was no moon. I let out a loud painful howl. My howl was filled with all the drama that took place today. After letting out all the pent-up emotions, I took a dip in the lake. The cold water made me shudder but I could care less as my mind was preoccupied.

After two to four laps, I was tired and decided to lay down. As I have always stocked clothes near the lake, I wore one of my shorts and tank top. I just laid down in the grass. The cold wind gush past me.

I was trying to take a short nap when I heard a howl in distance. I frowned because I have never heard it before. I looked around and there opposite the lake, stood a werewolf with gold shining eyes as he howled. I felt uneasy as he looked my way and I shuddered. It felt as if he was staring right back at me. For the first time, there was someone trying to destroy my peace.

Being an Alpha’s daughter myself. I did not back down and stayed there. We kept staring at each other until he decided to turn around and leave. That was my cue to get back to home as well.
