The hot water had done zero to get the stiffness out of my shoulders, but at least I didn't smell like that loser’s crappy backyard anymore.

I walked out of the bathroom, rubbing a towel through my hair and letting it drop around my neck. I only had another towel wrapped around my waist, my skin still steaming a little in the cool air of my bedroom.

My phone was sitting on the nightstand, buzzing like crazy.

I picked it up and threw it on speaker, flopping onto the edge of my mattress.
