INICIAR SESIÓNVINE
I turned around and left. Arriving at my house, the sound of laughter coming from inside my house greeted my ears and it surprised me more than how fast I got here, and was now standing at the front porch, waiting for the courage to knock to enter me. I wiped a tear that was straying down my cheeks with my left hand as I tried to even out my shaky breath. I only prayed to the moon goddess that my parents hadn't received the news of my nudity flying around the internet, or else I'm dead meat. "If I perish, I perish." I muttered under my breath as I pushed the door open and slowly let myself in, my eyes scanning the living room. The first pair of eyes that stared back at me were Miriam's, making my heart leap into my stomach as anger bubbled within me. My mother sat beside her while my father was standing up, still in his pack duty uniform, which meant he was either coming home from his trip or going out. "Miriam, what are you doing here?" After everything she dared to come to my home. Had she not done me enough harm? Besides, how did she get here so fast? I smirked. I guess it's because she shifted into her wolf form and ran all the way here. Nothing else explains it. "We should be asking you that question, you little slut." My father's angry eyes found mine as he walked up to me and landed a heavy slap on the left side of my cheek. Stinging pain arrested my cheek, as I stumbled backwards from the impact. You worthless slut… Good for nothing girl… These were voices from my past. I was supposed to forget them. Erase them from my memory like they didn't exist. But why did my heart constrict and my fingers tremble badly as I tried to control my labored breath? "Father, I am not a slut..." My voice broke as I fell apart, seeing how disappointed my father was in me. Until today, my father has never raised his hand at me. He used to be so proud of me until now… “Ye,s you are,” I could feel pain bleed into his voice, his eyes reddening, “I used to tell everyone how hardworking you are, and why they shouldn't judge you based on your wolfless character but…” he spread his palms, no atom of warmth in his eyes, “No matter what you did, you would never be better than your late twin sister. Even in her grave, everyone's still proud of her.” The silence that followed hit his point to. my core. Worthless piece of garbage… Slut "Even if you wanted to use those slutty holes of yours, couldn't you try to get the attention of the Alpha's son?" He lifted his hands to hit me again when my mother sped to his side and held him. “Please stop…” Miriam who had been quiet all this while stepped forward and placed her palms together in a pleading manner, "Beta, your wife's right," She lowered her gaze to the floor, her shoulders dropping to form a humble poise, "Don't blame her.. if you want to blame someone, blame me. It was my fault, I shouldn't have told you what happened.. I just wanted you to be there for her" then she sent me a chilling smirk that had me stumbling backwards, pain slicing through me once again at her betrayal. How hadn't I seen this coming… Her voice was soft, as she glanced at me with that pitiful look, her eyes misting over as she turned back to my parents with a sniffle… My father sighed, "You're such a responsible friend for telling this to us," He withdrew his hand from my mother's and sighed, "I just don't get why she can't follow in your footsteps." Miriam bowed and left our living room, while my father turned to face me. “Leave!” He pointed towards the door, causing my eyes to widen in shock. I fell to the floor, holding his legs as I begged shamelessly but he shook my hands off his legs, “Get out of my house this minute, before I lose my temper, now!” Tears rolled down my cheeks for the umpteenth time today as I bolted for the door, and ran as far as my legs could carry me, into the streets. Suddenly, I halted, bending and resting my hands on my knees, and trying to catch my breath when the rain started. It patted heavily, drenching my body as I looked into the dark sky like a lost soul. I smiled a little, not able to differentiate between the cold rain on my cheeks and my tears. Maybe I was a lost soul. I touched my wet hair, then wrapped my arms around my body as I shivered from the biting cold. Maybe I was hated by the moon goddess. A lone tear slipped down. Because this won't have happened if I weren't wolfless in the first place. Now I had lost it all. My boyfriend. My family. And finally, a roof over my head.POV: VINEI actually let out a dry scoff right to her face."Stay away? Seriously? If anybody on this entire, psychotic campus needs to be told to stay away from someone, isn't it Ace?" He was the one who kept cornering me wherever he found me, dragging me to his house, and dictating every single breath I took. When did I ever say I wanted to be anywhere near his orbit?I shook my head in pure pity, looking at her desperate, clawing expression, and just shoved my way right past her shoulder. The force of my crate knocked her back a step, but I didn't care. The fucking nerves that girl’s got. I was really pissed as I marched down the hallway, the heavy plastic handles digging into my fingers. I can't believe she was threatening me over a guy who treated the entire female population like disposable property. She could have him. She could have the whole toxic, confusing package for all I cared.★The day had finally ended, and thank goddess for that. The last of the Vipers had dragged
POV: VINEStupid of me. Seriously, it was so incredibly stupid of me to even think for a split second that his kiss with Rose was an accident. It’s been three whole days since Rose "tripped" and fell into his arms, and since then, she seems to be getting closer and closer with Ace by the minute. They’re always in each other’s orbit now. And Ace? He hasn't even cared that he hasn't seen me eye to eye since I told him to fuck off in the library archives. He completely blocked me out.But why was I even caring about that? Why was I letting it twist my stomach into knots? I’m supposed to be happy he’s finally leaving me alone. This is literally what I wanted.I know he’s completely occupied with practice anyway. The big match had been postponed by a week because of my whole kidnap incident and the museum thievery, since the entire scandal completely shook the school administration. So... good for the team, I guess. More time for them to perfect their game. Gives them higher chances of bea
POV: ACEThe team was still banging their sticks and cheering, filling the arena with loud, annoying noise, but I wasn't in the mood for their crap.I pulled Rose off me by her arms, squeezing hard enough to make her wince, and dragged her away from everyone, pulling her into the dark equipment tunnel where the guys couldn't see us."What the hell was that for?" I snapped, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand and scowling. I felt totally grossed out; my skin crawled from the bold move she'd just pulled.Rose didn't look sorry at all. She just scoffed, crossed her arms over her expensive fur coat, and looked away at the rink walls."What? I had to do something," she muttered, pouting. "The first time you saw me this semester, you kissed me. You chose to do that. And I thought... I thought you actually liked me."She snapped her head back at me, her eyes flashing with embarrassment and pure jealousy. "Only for Vine to suddenly be all anyone talks about, day after day, week after wee
POV: VINEWe were still frozen in that tiny library spot. The air was so thick it felt like trying to breathe underwater. Ace’s hands were hard on my jaw, his thumb dragging across my bottom lip like he owned the space I was in."What the hell is wrong with you?" he muttered, his voice low and gravelly—the one that always made my brain stop working. His eyebrows were knit together, and his eyes searched my face like I was a puzzle he had to figure out. "Why are you acting like you completely hate me being here?"That question felt like a straight-up insult. Was he really so stuck-up that he didn't get how serious his words were? The nerve of him asking that made a strange, hot feeling bubble up in my chest, and my hands clenched at my sides. I didn't think about what would happen. I just shoved him off me with all the strength I had left."Don't touch me," I snapped, though my voice shook, giving away that I wasn't calm. I backed up until the bookshelf dug painfully into my spine, nee
POV: VINEA day later, I was trying hard to pretend the world wasn't falling apart around me.I tried to go back to my normal routine. I walked across the quad with my laptop bag over my shoulder, keeping my head high. But my body was a mess. The bandages on my neck chafed against my shirt collar. My shredded soles felt like they were resting on hot coals with every step. But the physical pain was nothing compared the thing waking up inside my chest.Every time I closed my eyes, even for a quick blink against the bright sun, I felt a strange, simmering heat pulsing under my ribs.It was the exact same heavy, electric heat that exploded through my brain before my eyes turned that eerie blue in Ace’s mirror while he tried to torture me with the memories of my sister during the Vipers' initiation. It felt alive. It felt like a low fire feeding on my anger. It grew stronger and more restless every hour. I had no idea how to make it stop.I needed to clear my head. So I dragged myself to t
POV: ACEThe heavy iron door of the Vipers' locker room shut with a loud, metallic clang. The sound echoing off the steel benches.I reached down, grabbed the heavy padlock, and snapped it shut. We were locked inside.Stealing that old stone meant the threat was already here. Someone was inside the school. The Callahan Blood-Stone wasn't just some old historical item. It was a weapon. It was an anchor of pack power, made during the old war against the witches.Someone walking into the museum and stealing it meant they knew everything. They knew the security weaknesses. They knew the patrol schedule. They knew exactly how to use Vine’s kidnapping to empty the building.I knew the pack police were useless when it came to ancient secrets. They were only trained for bad wolves, fights over territory, and loud students. Now they faced a crime with the smell of burnt Emberwood ash and shattered glass. They were running around the quad like crazy, filing pointless paperwork and yelling into
