The Gap Between Us

"You are not safe here anymore, Cassandra." Alpha Hunter's voice was the same. Cold. Commanding. Strained.

I didn’t notice that he had already closed the gap between us. He was so freaking fast, I didn’t even have enough time to react. I gasped, and he pulled my chin, wanting me to focus on him. His eyes were like liquid, fiery basalt. My skin was burning. My heart was melting.
