She shook her head, giving me a half-smile.

"It's nothing, don't worry about it. It's just... I've always been afraid of thunder," she said, refusing to look into my eyes.

I could see she was still trembling, letting me know I shouldn't press on this issue any longer.

I stared intently into her beautiful lavender eyes and could tell, she was in pain. I could feel it in our bond.

I may not know the reason to that yet, but sooner or later we'll get there.

I realized even though her parents approved of her living here, she does not completely trust me. My wolf whimpered. I guess the thought of our mate not trusting herself to us did not sit well with him. And I can't deny it's bothering me too.

But for now, I won't force her. I will wait until she's ready to tell me what is going on.

Sighing, I nodded slowly, dropping my eyes to the gap separating our bodies. I find myself laying my hand on her shoulders before grasping it gently, making her snap her eyes up at me startled.
