(Kaeleigh’s POV)

I made my way off the stage as soon as it was considered polite to do so. I wanted to get away from all the staring. I made it halfway across the dance floor when I heard a familiar voice.

“Kaeleigh.” I looked back to see Chase following me. I sighed and stopped and waited for him. 

“You did amazing,” he said once he had reached me. I smiled in response to be polite but felt conscious that people were watching us.

“Thank you,” I said quietly, and he went to reach out to me, but I stepped back and he dropped his hand.

“I wanted to ask if I could see you later,” he said and rubbed his hand on neck, “Maybe tomorrow?” I hesitated briefly but remembered that I said I would give him a chance, so I smiled and nodded.
