It’s been five days since I almost kissed Kelly.

And trust me, my life hasn’t been the same ever since.

Well, except for the constant nagging from Merry asking me to set a date for our marriage, which clearly wouldn’t happen.

“Alpha,” Mr. Anderson called as I was once again lost in thought and forgot that he was here. I turned to face him, the man who started all of this problem for me. If only he hadn’t adopted Merry and favored her over Kelly, then maybe I wouldn’t be in the situation that I am in right now.

“You seemed a bit distracted,” he said, and I glared at him. Just because I was tolerating him all this time, does he really think he has the right to say anything he wants? He cowered under my stare as if realizing what he had just done was a big mistake. Good for him.

“As I was saying, I don’t really know what had happened between you and Merry, but I am afraid that she would do something to harm herself if this marriage does not push through; she really loves you, Alpha,”

I never knew that someone could love my mother the way the Fae King did, but I was glad that she had him, even if they were never really in a relationship. After discovering who my father really was, I hoped that at some point, the Fae King had taken my mother away, and she spent the rest of her life living happily with him.‘My Dad, personally planted all these flowers; no one touched this garden but him,’ Aerin said as we walked towards the gazebo. ‘He said that he made a promise to your mother that if the time comes and they could be together, he would build the prettiest garden the world had seen and place a gazebo where she could do whatever hobby she fancied at that time and just be surrounded with all these pretty colors.’The smile that Aerin had disappeared the moment that she continued the story

“Because Ella is my Beta’s Fated Mate.” I replied, still looking straight into his eyes, “I believe that you would be able to understand how it feels when you lose one.”The Fae King became silent as he stared at me. He wasn’t angry, nor was he questioning what I said, but just like before, he was good at hiding what he was thinking, but the difference between then and now is that I could feel the change in his aura. It was lighter than when we first came. When he didn’t say anything, I decided to take it as a sign to continue talking.“I heard about you,” I continued, no longer afraid because I knew that he could relate. If what I heard was right, he is the Fated Mate of Kelly’s mother. And losing Kelly’s mother would have made a massive impact on him. “You’re the Fated Mate of Kelly’s mom.” “It seemed like you knew more about me than I knew you,” the Fae King replied as he took a bite from his steak, which I noticed was a habit of his when he wanted to show the person he was talkin

I don’t know where I was going or where I was headed. All I knew was that I needed to get out of there since the Fae King was obviously being a fucking asshole! To make it worse, I hated how Leo sat there considering the offer that the Fae King had provided by giving me and our daughter a place to stay here. We were supposed to be on the same page, but hearing Leo agree with him made me sick and so fucking furious. Why the hell did he do that? Was he still angry I was here? Or was that part of his plan, which is why he wanted to meet the Fae King alone? My mind is a storm of unanswered questions, and every thought just fuels the pounding in my head. The worse the headache gets, the more frustrated I feel.“Are you alright?” Katherine asked, stepping beside me while keeping my stride, and surprising me at the same time. I stopped walking and shook my head no. But before I could say anything else, Aerin arrived. “I’m sorry,” she said as she took my hand between hers. I know that she

“You know exactly what I meant, Viktor.”I looked at Clint, who just shrugged at me, trying to see if he knew where Katherine was getting all this confidence to speak with the Fae King the way she’s doing right now. I’m not even sure that I know what she was saying because I don’t seem to remember that she told me anything about it. But the way the Fae king looks at this moment tells me that he knows what she was talking about. It was as if Katherine had finally been able to penetrate the invisible armor he wore, making him show emotions he could control flawlessly while he was talking to me. It was so visible in the Fae King’s eyes and face, the raw emotion of surprise, along with the questions that he might be thinking of right at this moment, as if wondering how the hell Katherine knows about those things.“You know exactly what I meant, Victor,” Katherine repeated once again. And this time, the Fae King, whose name is Viktor, didn’t question her. But Victor didn’t respond; ins

I watched as my Mate walked away furiously. I know that I should follow her, but when Aerin and Katherine stood, I remained in my seat.“What’s wrong with you, Dad?” Aerin barked before stomping off to follow Kelly. Even after his daughter’s outburst, the Fae King’s expression didn’t change. I am not sure if he was really unbothered by it or if it was his way of not showing any weakness. “If you are planning to stay, let’s make sure that the food won’t go to waste.” Clint and I proceeded to eat with him, but after a few minutes of silence, I asked,“Is your offer real?” He stopped slicing the steak in front of him and looked at me straight in the eye. “One thing I am known for is that I don’t lie,” he replied. “Which also meant that I hate Liars.” The emphasis he placed on the word ‘Liars’ speaks volumes. Now I know at least one of the things that he values. “I share the same sentiment.” Letting him know that we have similarities. That we might be the same kind of Leaders for th

The servant came back exactly an hour after she made the announcement. “Shouldn’t we call Katherine and Clint?” I asked Leo, but it was the servant who replied to me. “They were already picked up.” I wanted to ask her more questions, but with the distance that she kept between Leo and me, it was pretty clear that she didn’t want to have this conversation. After a minute or two, I concluded that the dining room was far from our rooms because we were still walking through a corridor with open walls that offered a view of the garden and the mountain.I now begin to understand where those fairy tales came from. The Fae castle is no joke. I would get lost just walking from one room to another. Yes, that’s how huge the whole place was. Despite that, I couldn’t deny just how beautiful the place was. The way the light from the sun reflects on the walls and the intricate details in each room is remarkable. I wonder who designed it.“Do you get the feeling that you could get lost while wal
