“You are meant to be the Luna of Mystic Moon. Always have been, and always will be.”

I meant every word of what I just said. I guess that’s what happens when you face death. You begin to realize what’s important and what is not.

“I don’t think that I have what it takes to be a Luna,” Kelly said softly, as she looked down at her lap. I hate to see her like this. To see how much confidence she had lost because of what happened between us.

“We don’t have to rush things.” I kept my voice calm and soft, too afraid to make her run away from me. “All that matters right now is for me to know that you’re staying here at Mystic Moon. And for you to give me a chance to become a better version of myself. I don’t care how long it takes. All that matters to me is that you are willing to give me a chance. To give us a chance.”

She looked up at me, and when our eyes met, I held my breath.

“I am willing to give you a chance,” she said softly, and I felt a big weight lifted from my shoulders. “But,

Kelly was still asleep when I came back to our room. The tiredness that she was so good at hiding finally showed. Seeing the state she was in, I decided not to wake her up and just bring dinner into our room after I finished our meeting with Mateo’s dad. Alpha Maximus has been my father’s friend, along with Alpha Dexter. I know that if there were someone I should trust, it would be him. He had never betrayed me or gone against me, even when I became the leader of the Alliance after my father died. All of them voted for me, even Sean’s father. Only Alpha Asher went against me, stating that I was too young and lacked experience in ruling the land that my parents and the others had fought so hard to protect. Maybe he was right to point out the things I wasn’t good at. Perhaps that’s the reason why I didn’t catch him before Mateo’s father did. But regardless of my mistakes, one thing he forgot was that I was not alone. I never worked alone because, to me, the alliance is an extension

These past few days have been like a rollercoaster ride that refuses to stop. It brings you higher and higher, and you think you’re on the verge of touching the sky, only to have it drop you when you least expect it, leaving you to fear for your own life. I don’t mind the ride as long as I have Kelly by my side. At least then I could protect her no matter what. But after today, I can’t help but question my abilities to do that, after realizing that there are still a lot of things that I couldn’t do for her, like shielding her from words and revelations that just kept coming for us.“I think you’re overestimating me, because I don’t have any hidden powers. I didn’t even know witches existed until now.” I hear Kelly say.“You’re not the one who’s going to set me free, but you will be the one to ask your father to do it.” I look at my Luna, and the confusion that she had on her face reflects the exact look I have on mine. I am not sure if this witch even knew what she was talking about

I had never been to meetings with the Alliance, so when Leo offered it to me. I know that this would be the beginning of my involvement with it. But being the Luna of the pack isn’t just about being the Mate of the Alpha, or the mother of his pups. Being the Luna of the pack also meant that I had to be able to stand on my own, make my own decisions if needed, and be the voice of reason when my Alpha became unreasonable. Sounds easy? Let me tell you now that it’s not. I had been sitting here beside Leo, but none of what they were talking about was making sense. I understand bits and pieces here and there, but that’s about it. Seeing that I don’t understand anything at all makes me uncomfortable to even be here. Honesty, I feel so embarrassed to be here right now. Well, until Mateo’s father introduces someone who catches my attention. “Lastly,” he said, and the man we saw earlier entered the tent once again, but this time he was holding a woman beside him.“This is Ella,” Mateo’s

Each one of us waited for him, the mole who had put all of our lives through hell. The man is behind all these problems that we have. He was the smallest person that I know of, but that didn’t stop him from doing something that he or she isn’t supposed to do.Just like how I imagined that Alpha Asher would do something that he isn’t supposed to do. Everyone was in shock when Mateo’s father said the last thing that he had expected that happen.“I found the mole.”The three of us looked at each other, trying to see if we all heard the same thing that I did. “I know that it’s too sudden and that we should check on all the details first before making a final judgment, but I could feel that the law that we had made to protect our people should be changed.” Mateo’s father was a fine man. He was someone who enjoyed equality for everyone, and hearing him say things like this only meant that something had happened. “We could look back on the proposal that you made, but we need to know what

In all the moments I shared with Lylia, one truth slowly became undeniable, something I hadn’t expected, but couldn’t ignore.Lylia loves being the star of the show. Yes, my daughter loves to be in the spotlight. It doesn’t matter what the topic is about; all that matters to her is that she plays a big part in that scene. And right now, I was glad that Lylia stole the attention that everyone was giving Kelly, making all the worried looks that people have on their faces for Kelly disappear. Before anyone could ask her where she'd been or what had happened, Lylia stormed in with her own story to tell, leaving the rest of our friends with no choice but to listen to her.“I’m thwe Pwincess of thwis pack.” She said proudly.“Princess?” Mika asked, smiling at her, but unable to hide the confusion in her eyes as she looked at us.“Ywesh! Pwincess.” Lylia repeated with conviction, as if her words carried some weight if she said it that way.“Hwe’s my Dwaddy, Phalpha.” She gestured her small

I truly believed nothing could surprise me anymore, until the Goddess herself proved just how wrong I was.“Thwis is thwe Alpha,” my cute little daughter said in her adorable little voice as she introduced me to her friend. “And he’s mwy Dwad.”Kelly and I looked at each other, lost for words. At the same time, we are both unsure where Lylia had learned to call me her Dad. I had grown attached to the sound of Lylia calling me Phalpha, a name that, in my heart, only meant Papa. It wasn’t just a word. Because for me, it was a bond I had with my daughter, even though she doesn’t know it. The word was meant for me. It was mine. A connection that no one knew that we had.So when I heard her call Mateo the same thing, it hit me like lightning. A shock that had tightened my chest and made my blood boil. That name, that connection that was supposed to be mine, was no longer mine alone. In that moment, I wasn’t just hurt. I was furious. Betrayed by a word I thought belonged only to me. Stil
