STACY.

By the time we arrive at Daniel’s mansion, I feel like I’ve been walking for days. My muscles ache, and my mind won’t stop replaying the rogue’s touch, and my wolf inability to shift which left me helpless.

But the moment I step inside and see Liam curled up on the living room couch, fast asleep, the weight in my chest lifts just a little.

I kneel beside my son, brushing a few curls off his forehead. His chest rises and falls in soft, peaceful breaths. His thumb is tucked under his chin like he loves.

Nanny Rose appears from the hallway, holding a folded blanket. She smiles when she sees me. "Good evening Alpha, Miss Stacy,"

I offer her a smile in acknowledgment. "Was Liam any trouble while I was gone?"

She shakes her head in refusal. “Not at all. He had his milk all day, a bath, and barely fussed.”

I glance up, surprised. “Are you sure?”

“Yes Miss. He was a good pup.” She nods, “He mostly dozed off after a good feed.”

My heart twists. “Thank you,” I murmur,

STACY (Six Years Later...) I press the last of the soil down with my palm. It’s cold, and damp from last night’s rain, and it clings to my fingers like it’s not ready to let go. Neither am I. I sigh softly, my eyes fixed on the simple grave I managed to make with my own hands. It's just a flat patch of earth nestled beneath an old mulberry tree, marked only by a circle of smooth river stones. There’s no name carved into wood, and no traditional howling ceremony because I know she wouldn’t have wanted the fuss... So it's just Liam and me, standing in the quiet she left behind. I pull my black shawl tighter around my aching shoulders—sore from digging alone—then brush my knuckles across my cheekbone before Liam notices I’ve been crying again. He’s standing beside me, holding the little bunch of forget-me-nots he insisted on picking this morning. His curls are tousled, and his cheeks pink from the cold. He is six now, and already wiser than most adults I have met. “She’

STACY. I didn’t sleep much after Daniel left. How could I? He stood at my door, three in the morning still in his suit looking devastatingly handsome as I remember with his intoxicating scent stirring memories I’ve buried too deep for too long.... But I must admit that I hadn’t seen that look on his face since before the world fell apart between us. Desperate. Determined. Like he’d tear the world apart just to find me. And he did, obviously thanks to my mom I told about my whereabouts when she called the rogue healer whose name is Vivienne Hook. Daniel said he called off his mating ceremony to Natasha for me. And part of me wanted to believe every word and let the past dissolve like morning mist. But I can’t for three main reasons... 1. Not when my heart still bears Jason’s betrayal like a wound that never truly healed. 2. Not when I have a son who deserves peace more than another emotional war. And lastly not when I’m still wolfless—barely even myself. So I said no

JASON. “Which room have you placed Nicole?” I storm into the pack hospital, my heart pounding in my chest, barely able to contain the storm of rage building inside me as I ask one of the nurses at the entrance. She bows her head to show submissiveness, “She is in suite 03,” she responds immediately. I walk past her to the said room. The sterile smell of disinfectant does nothing to calm me as I head straight for Nicole’s room. She’s been manipulating me, feeding me that damn love potion, and now it’s time for her to face my wrath. I push the door open with more force than I intend, finding her sitting up in bed, looking as serene as ever. But I know better. "My love_" she starts to speak but I cut her off. “Nicole,” I growl, my voice low and dangerous, “we need to talk.” She glances up, her face painted with that fake innocence I’ve grown to hate. “My love? What’s wrong?” I step closer, the fury burning hot behind my eyes. “Don’t play dumb with me. I know about the

JASON. (Meanwhile in midnight pack) ‘Alpha, what will you be having for breakfast today?’ My secretary, Avery, asks in mind link. ‘The usual will be great, thanks,’ I respond and cut the mind link. Today, I’m at the office, my mind deep in work. It’s been a few days since I married Nicole, and everything at home feels like it’s spiralling out of control. But slowly, I’m starting to see through the fog. I’ve stopped eating or drinking anything from home, and ever since, I’ve felt more like myself. The constant urge to please her has begun to fade, and for the first time in a long time, I can think clearly. I’ve thrown myself into pack duties, spending long hours at the office, neglecting Nicole as much as possible. I need space to figure out what’s been happening to me… Minutes later, Avery steps into my office, carrying my usual takeaway breakfast. Her presence is calm and efficient. Avery is young and undeniably attractive, with sharp eyes and a quick smile, but I respect

DANIEL. "I need to see them," I say my voice low and firm. “I thought you might,” she murmurs, pulling something from her coat pocket. A scrap of paper, scrawled with directions and a location. “Alpha, she made me promise not to tell anyone. But seeing what you did back there? Calling off the ceremony?” Her eyes soften. “Maybe there’s still hope for you two after all.” I nod, gripping the paper like it’s life itself. “Thank you,” I say and hastily walk back to my car because now whether she wants me or not… I’m not letting her go again especially after calling off my mating ceremony to Natasha... --- (A few hours later) The night air is cool as I drive through the unpaved path leading into the outskirts of the rogue healer’s territory which is barely marked—no streetlights, no welcoming signs, just dense woods and moonlight. My headlights cut through the dark until I see the frame of a worn-out cabin nestled beneath a cluster of weeping birch trees. Smoke curls ge

DANIEL. “Daniel,” Natasha hisses under her breath, her eyes wild and shimmering with unshed tears. “Please… don’t do this to me especially not in front of everyone.” Her hands grip mine, trembling. But I don’t return the hold. “I’m sorry, Natasha,” I say softly but firmly, my voice carrying weight that silences even the murmurs around us. “You deserve someone who will love only you completely. That’s not me.” She recoils as though I struck her. “Then why agree to this in the first place?” she chokes. “Was it your plan all along to make me look like a fool in front of the pack?” “No, I didn’t mean for it to get this far,” I admit sincerely with my jaw tight. “But it would be crueler to bind you to a man whose heart belongs to someone else.” She scoffs before asking in a hushed voice, "Does your heart belong to Stacy White?" she asks immediately but I stay silent—not because I don’t have an answer, but because I know exactly what kind of gossip will spread through the pa
