더 보기I was enjoying the morning in my tiny house. I was drinking coffee and finally, finally feeling like I could breathe. The day was sunny and beautiful and the smell from my open window that was behind the small sofa built into the wall of my tiny home was sweet and addicting. I stood in the middle of the room and sipped my coffee, still in my tank top and pj bottoms from the night before, my long auburn hair fell down my back in waves and I tried to shove it out of my face and push it behind my ears to keep it out of my blue eyes.
This was where I had always dreamed of being. Ever since I was a little girl. I finally had the tiny home and property I had always wanted. A place to stay in solitude and keep everyone away. My studio, that I had built alongside my tiny home, was filled with paintings and drawings that had helped to bring me this paradise. I had only sold a couple, but it was enough to buy my tiny slice of heaven. My property was surrounded by forest on all sides with only a dirt road that, unless someone knew exactly where it was could easily be missed. I loved that about this place. A private place that was hidden away from the rest of the world.
A perfect place to hide.
I walked out onto my little porch and sat on the porch swing that hung suspended to the left of my front door. This was my favorite time of the day here. I would sit and watch all the animals in the forest and breathe in the heady scent of the trees, moss, roots, and whatever animals were there. I had seen a few wolves here and there, one quite large and black. I had seen him from a distance. What was odd about him was how he would stand at the edge of the forest where my property line met up with the trees and just watch me. The first few times I was a little startled, but after a while I just accepted that this was his home and I made an effort to relax when he was there and just go about my morning ritual of drinking my coffee and llistening to the sounds. Every once in a while I would glance up at him and give him a small smile to let him know that I was okay with him being there. He always felt strangely comforting to me. I did not fear this wolf, even though he was quite large in comparison to other wolves I had seen. I almost got the sense that he was standing guard for me, or protecting me from something I didn't know was out there.
This morning I was surprised not to see him in his usual spot. I didn't know why my stomach twisted in bitter diapointment. He was just a wolf, he'd be back again. I sat back on the swing and pushed myself into a gentle rocking motion while sipping my coffee. This was my favorite thing to do. I could just sit here, rock, close my eyes, and be totally at peace.
Suddenly I was hit with the most delicious scent. I couldn't place it. Almost like chocolate, but some lavender and musky scent with it. I didn't know what it was, but it was relaxing me even more. It was the best thing I had ever smelled! What was that?
The smell seemed to be getting stronger, which was odd. I wasn't around anything that could smell like that. There was no chocolate nearby, I didn't have any lavender growing anywhere and I couldn't place the musky scent.
I was falling asleep and soon I was dreaming about the wolf that had watched me from the edge of the woods. Only, he stood up on his hind legs, not at all like a wolf, and walked towards me. I wasn't scared. I felt... loved. I felt protected.
"My mate, I have found you." The wolf said in a deep voice. "I will protect you. I love you."
Then he was in front of me. How had he gotten here so quickly? I could feel his raw emotions. He was grateful, sad, and happy all wrapped up in a single being. I didn't understand the emotions radiating off of him.
I watched as he walked across my porch slowly to stand directly in front of me. "You will be held above all women in my world. No one will dare to speak your name without reverence. You will be a strong and capable Luna to our people. They will love you as I love you. We will have children, beautiful children..."
This dream was incredible but I knew it was a dream, so why did it feel like a big wolf was sniffing my face? I opened my eyes and was met with dark ones that were rimmed with silver. Standing over me. Taller by far than any wolf I'd ever seen. I jumped up, dropping my coffee cup on the ground where it broke and coffee splattered all over the wooden porch. The porch swing swung violently behind me with the force in which I had jumped up. I continued to stare into his eyes not sure if I should move. Would he attack me? Should I run? Should I play dead?
Then I realized; I was staring at the wolf I had been dreaming about. The smell I couldn't place had been coming off of him. His jet black fur smelled so good to me that it was making me dizzy and I worried I might pass out.
The wolf stared back at me with eyes that were too intelligent to just be a wolf. I knew this was no ordinary wolf. I also knew that I was about to discover something that was going to change my life forever.
I just wasn't sure if it would be for the better or for the worse.
Miranda"Where's Stella? Where's Stella at?" I uncovered my eyes and looked around the grassy yard outside the packhouse for my daughter. Trevor and the other kids were helping her hide. Kind of cheating if you asked me, but she loved it and I loved to hear her giggling.I ran around the side of the packhouse but wasn't fast enough to catch the giggling kids. They darted behind some hedges on the edge of the lawn and I laughed and ran to find them. I could hear Trevor talking to Stella, "Don't let mommy find us!" He whispered urgently and I heard her answering giggle.lI snuck up to the hedge and jumped around to find them crouched behind out."RAH!" I yelled out playfully. They both screamed and laughed as I lunged at them dramatically pretending to try to catch them in my arms. Trevor picked Stella up and ran with her to another bush with the other kids running with them, all laughing hysterically.I saw Lyla walking towards us with her son Kyle in the distance and I waved to her.
MirandaIt was getting close now. I was getting so big it was getting hard to walk. Well, waddle would be a more acurate term. The baby kicked so hard now that at times I had to lift my shirt and check to make sure I didn't have any bruises.I was anxious to go on a run again as I hadn't been able to let Jasmine have control since before I found out I was pregnant. The pack doctor, a sweet older woman with kind brown eyes and gray hair had prohibitted me from shifting during my pregnancy. As she'd explained, it could be dangerous for she-wolves to do, but humans it could be deadly. Axel had pouted, but Jasmine, as a wolf who had lived many lives and had many children, knew that we could not risk it for a few moments of blissful freedom. We could wait. And I was good with that. I loved being pregnant. I loved having the baby kick me and all the changes. Even the morning sickness, which was horrible in the beginning. Jackson was sweet, staying by my side the entire time and holding my h
LylaTravis and I had left the party a little early. I had made sure to tell Miranda how happy I was for her, but I wasn't feeling well and I knew it was time to head home. Travis, as always, knew when I was not feeling right and was immediately by my side before I could even tell him how I was feeling. As soon as we had gotten out of the pack house he had scooped me up into his arms and headed for our house on the other side of town.He placed me gently on our bed and smoothed my hair back. "Are you feeling any better?" He asked me gently.I smiled at him. "Not really, but I'll be ok. Just need to rest for a bit.""Can I get you anything?"I shook my head. "Just lay here with me.""Gladly." He kicked his shoes off and got on the bed with me, wrapping me tightly in his arms. "Do you think you have a cold?"I chuckled softly, surprised he hadn't noticed yet. "No, sweetie. I don't have a cold."He was silent for a moment while his brain was running through all the human ailments that he
JacksonMiranda was nearly five months along and it was getting harder to hide from the pack. We knew most people suspected, but we hadn't formally announced it yet. It was time, even if we wanted to just keep our private little family private. They were our family too and they needed to know. Tonight was that night. We had decided to throw a party at the packhouse and make the announcement here. Miranda had been busy with the kids decorating the place with streamers and helping Anna put food out and move furniture around to accomodate everyone. From the looks of it, they were having the time of their lives as they giggled and ran around blowing up balloons and sneaking into the finger foods Anna was arranging on the table. She would playfully slap at their hands and pretend to be angry only to laugh with them when they succeeded in snagging a piece of food and shoving it dramatically into their mouths. They had noticed that Miranda had been gaining weight, but none of the children c

MirandaI heard the front door crash open. I didn't even flinch. I just waited. In the entryway, he began smashing whatever he could see. It didn't matter to him that my mate was the Alpha. He thought he was safe since Jackson was gone. He thought only women and children were in this house. Scared
MirandaIt was unusually calm after Jackson left for Red Moon. It was an eerie calm, like right before a bad storm. When she helped the children into bed and wished them all good night, I had started to feel a little jittery. This was a familiar feeling, and I didn't like it.John was close.Whenev
MyaThe children were a delight. I loved them as soon as I saw them. It had taken a bit for them to warm up to me, but by the end of my visit, the two little girls were sitting on my lap and the two small boys were glued to either side of me on the couch. Though Trevor didn't touch me and he didn't
