Chapter Six

Kael's POV

Could it be I was mistaken, seeing the raging thunderbolt and lightening from outside, I felt genuinely disappointed, I know for certain that Lyra is innocent.

"I knew it, she is a traitor!!" One of the the pack members present screamed and my eyes averted to my brother, I could see his eyes lightened up as he looked straight at Me, my eyes turned to Lyra, I expected to see a  terrified beauty but met a calm and confident gaze, she seems totally unfazed by the thunderbolts and lightening havoring in the clouds, her expression made me calm again.

"Traitor!!"

"It's only a matter of seconds before she is struck dead by the moon goddess, yet she looks so arrogant."

"What do you except, she is such a snag yet act so smug...in minutes, she'd be dead."

Murmurs coming from the crowd made my head ache, I released my Alpha aura instantly, turning the room silent without issuing a single word of command, my gaze lingered on Lyra.

Suddenly, the expression on Raine face changed, I could see her visibly shaken, she shakily moved closer to Lyra and grabbed her hands, she turned her palms trembling and examined it closely, her sudden behavior made the crowd burned silent and they were shocked at Raine's expression.

Raine has been the oldest healer and prophetess from a pure bloodline of healers, she had never shown such an expression before, whatever it may be, it certainly grave for the great healer to behave this way.

Raine trembling hands find it way to Lyra's face, she grabbed her chin and spoke some words to her that even with my Alpha hearing ability I couldn't hear anything and fainted right at the spot.

The entire crowd turned chaotic, as healers ran in, trying to revive her, no one noticed but the raging thunder and lightening stopped almost instantly, despite all this, Lyra still remained calm with an intimidating aura surrounding her, it's hard to believe even with her awe striking beauty, she is so powerful and confident.

"Silence!!" My voice thundered in the hall and everyone paused whatever they were doing and turned to me, my eyes lingered on Dave who gave me a reassuring smile before I walked towards the Alter where Lyra stood high and mighty, she had the aura of a Luna and the grace of a beauty.

"Take the healer back to her mansion to rest up, the rest of the crowd can be dismissed, whatever happened today shall be kept under wraps and I forbid anyone from speaking about it."

"Brother, it's possible to stop everyone from speaking of it, but everything that happened right now is already broadcasted live, even if you manage to keep the entire pack silent about it, tbe world already knows of today." Dave was quick to criticize me codedly even without letting me finish.

"You didn't let me finish." I snapped with a cold voice and Dave trembled slightly, fully backing up his innocent brother facade.

"The live broadcast was stopped just after Raine fainted, the rest of the recorded part shall be deleted and all traces online removed, we have the best hackers in our pack, such a feat isn't impossible."

"Now we can all depart and prepare for the mating ceremony."  I commanded as my hands grabbed Lyra cold hands in mine, murmurs of both dissatisfaction and agreements slipped from the crowd as they all left one after the other.

Only some few important people were left, my eyes turned to Lyra as her inspected her entire body carefully.

"Were you hurt at all?"

"You seem to underestimated me, such a fickle can't even hurt a fly." Those words slipped out her mouth like music and chuckled internally, this was part of the reason I respected and choosed her.

"If she is truly innocent, wouldn't it be strange that she is hurt?" Lena snapped behind her, her eyes burning with fury and envy towards Lyra, my eyes darkened instantly and I wanted to speak but Elder Owen beat me to it.

"It's important you gain the approval from the crowd before the Moonbound Investiture My Alpha, after all, the mating ceremony holds no true meaning on whether the people accept her as their Luna." He said slowly but calculated, on the surface, Lord Owen seems to support me but I know deep down his support for me is only because he wants his family to go higher in rank by becoming the in-law to the royal family.

"I understand Elder Owen concerns, given her reputation, the people can only be sceptical towards her, After all she is not your fated mate." Dave said silently as he watched Lyra closely but she remained silent, not giving them the satisfaction of hearing her speak.

"I know damn well she's not, how I choose my Luna is none of your concerns, if there's nothing, I demand you take your leave now!!" I commanded in an Alpha tone and everyone including my brother have no choice but obey.

Back at my Chambers, Lyra and I stood face to face, my wolf was restless within me, this is the first woman or say person to ever make my powerful Alpha wolf turned restless by such a stare.

"You shouldn't have let them take you to the Ancestral hall." I began, I tried not to sound too harsh, afraid I will Kill her sprite.

"What should I have done then? Alpha Kael, you seem to have forgotten the terms in your own contract."

"Be your contract wife for a year and obey every single command without questions in Nightfang citadel." Her voice was neither arrogant nor polite, she looked at me with reserved respect for being her savior but her having been so much betrayal, she didn't let her guard down one bit.

"I advise you watch your tone, Lady Lyra, you are talking to our Alpha." Ronan pushed opened the door and walked in with a solemn expression, I frowned slightly.

"Just save it Ronan, she is an essential tool in our plan, don't ruin it!" I mindlinked him instantly and he froze but quickly masked it up and turned to Lyra.

"My apologies."
