Acceptance

"The acceptance of your application to the esteemed Silverclaw Pack has been granted," informed the middle-aged man with an air of nonchalance.

Although his appearance was a well-indicator of his position with a domineering aura and disciplined expression, the hint of warmth and compliment couldn't be hidden from his eyes. Etched lines on his face bore witness to the weight of his age, but they also revealed the unmistakable pride that swelled within him.

At the mere utterance of those words, a pair of hazel eyes instantly ignited with radiant joy. A slender smile stretched across her lips, blossoming into a wide grin that reached the corners of her eyes, a vivid reflection of the sheer elation and excitement pulsating within her. She fought back the urge to release a joyous squeal that danced on the tip of her tongue, exerting every ounce of self-control to contain her excitement.

"Oh my god! Is this truly happening, Alpha?" she quivered, her voice tinged with a hint of disbelief.

For what seemed like an eternity, she had fervently aspired to secure a position as a doctor within the Silverclaw Pack. Now, as the confirmation of her acceptance resonated in her ears, she found herself grappling with the reality of her dreams materializing before her eyes. Perhaps it was because the dream had been etched in her heart for far too long.

The Alpha gave a slight nod.

In that instant, an unrestrained squeal of sheer delight erupted from her lips, her excitement propelling her forward. With lightning speed, she closed the distance between them, driven by an impulse to express her overwhelming exuberance. However, the Alpha, well-aware of her enthusiasm, anticipated her impulsive advance and swiftly raised a hand, creating a physical barrier to prevent her from pouncing upon him.

"Easy now, hold back your excitement," he cautioned, his voice gentle yet firm.

The girl acquiesced, her fervor momentarily checked, as she stepped back in deference to his request. His unequivocal refusal to be embraced did little to dampen her buoyant spirit, and her eyes shimmering with anticipation eagerly awaited for him to dismiss her.

"They require your presence at the Silverclaw Pack by the week's end. And now, you can go and share this with everyone. But never forget, the Silverclaw Pack has its own set of rules—"

Before he was able to get carried away and embark with his usual nagging, the girl raised her hand, deftly cutting off his words.

"Rest assured, Alpha, I am well acquainted with the pack's rules. You need not worry. I have complete control over myself."

Without further ado, and before he could utter another syllable, she gracefully slipped out of the room. Her departure was punctuated by the soft click of the door sealing behind her.

Left alone, the Alpha leaned against his desk, his fingertips pressing against his forehead. Inwardly, he offered a silent prayer, fervently hoping that all would unfold seamlessly for the spirited young woman.

Once she stepped out of the room, the girl dashed towards the sleek railing on the second floor, her delicate fingers gripping it tightly. Taking a deep breath, she called for everyone's attention.

"Gather around, everyone. I have important news to tell you all," she shouted.

Her voice carried the weight of excitement, causing the bustling tasks of the pack to falter and halt. They turned their attention towards her, and their curious gazes fixated on the source of this unexpected interruption. And in that moment, the girl's spirit soared, her mood electrified by the eager anticipation that gripped her audience.

"What's the matter?" someone voiced out from below.

A smug smile curled upon Serenity's lips and her eyes glinted mischievously as she replied, "Guess who just earned a spot in the Silverclaw Pack as a doctor."

But before anyone could respond, she pressed on, not allowing the anticipation to wane. "Yes, you've guessed it right, folks. I, Serenity Knight, is the one who gained entry. Now, applaud," she proclaimed, basking in her moment of glory.

The infectious joy emanating from the bubbly girl permeated the surroundings, captivating hearts and igniting a collective celebration. An eruption of synchronized applause cascaded through the pack house, a resounding testament to their genuine elation and pride for Serenity. The elders, their eyes brimming with affection, were proud of her for her remarkable accomplishment.

Basking in the sea of applause, Serenity reveled in the moment, bobbing her head in contentment.

"Then, I will make a feast tonight to celebrate it," expressed one of the pack's chef.

"Thank you, Mrs. Wilson. I appreciate it!" she vocalized. Her tone cheery.

One of the elders looked at her with concerned eyes and said, "However, dear, you do know that Silverclaw Pack is strict, and even the council has barely any impact on them. Their customs and laws diverge greatly from ours, and they harbor a wariness towards outsiders, let alone humans. Should any predicament arise, our ability to assist you might be severely limited."

Serenity turned her head to face the worried elder, gracing him with a soft smile. She understood that his words stemmed from genuine care and not a desire to dampen her spirits. Many others in the pack shared his apprehension.

Being the only human among them, Serenity had been raised with boundless love and treated like a precious gem, nurtured under their protective embrace. Never had they discriminated against her, and they had always made her feel cherished and valued.

She will forever be grateful to them for it, an eternal debt owed to her pack for their unwavering support.

"Old man, you know that I have to go or else I wouldn't be able to be at peace. Also, I always had the greatest luck. And with all of your well-wishes, I am pretty sure I will be fine."

"Even so—"

She interrupted him, "Now, now, let's not ruin the mood. I don't know when I will be reunited with you all next. So, why don't we have a grand party today? Around the bonfire?"

Her eyes gleamed at the suggestion.
