Chapter 4: I'm Asking You

Roxanne POV

I instantly realised that what I had done was wrong, instantly I felt cold sweat start to flood from my body.

Especially when I saw Vivian who was there start walking towards me with her angry face. Vivian immediately dragged me back to the basement, it seemed like I had really made a mistake this time.

When I got to the basement Vivian pushed me against the wall and held my shoulders with her both hands.

"Do you know what you did earlier?!" Vivian yelled angrily.

"Sorry, I was just surprised to see that guy," I replied fearfully.

"He's the Alpha King! He might kill us all after what you did earlier!" Vivian looked anxious and agitated at this point.

Unlike Vivian, I was more shocked than scared. I didn't expect that the man I met in the forest this morning was the Alpha King!

I began to think that it was only natural that he could enter our pack's territory without being caught, it turned out that he was our leader.

Vivian who saw me just silent without guilt began to feel angry, then punched the wall right next to my face.

Instantly I came to my senses and cold sweat broke out on my forehead. If Vivian's punch hadn't missed, then I would have fainted by now.

"How can you be so calm right now? If anything bad happens, then the first person we'll kill is you!" After saying that Vivian pushed my body roughly onto the floor.

After that I could see Vivian leave, leaving me alone in the basement, but it seemed that this time Vivian locked the door that led to the basement.

"I'm finally locked up here again," I said resignedly, this time there seemed to be nothing I could do.

On the bright side, I can rest, even though my stomach is rumbling with hunger. But, at least I don't have to do that endless work.

And I seem to have to pray that the Alpha King can be merciful and forgive my disrespectful actions.

Although my father treated me badly, I also don't want the Alpha King to kill him and destroy the entire pack just because of my actions.

. . .

Just then when I was relaxing on my hard and hollow bed, I heard someone opening the door to the basement, I quickly came out of my room to see who was coming.

And I saw an omega coming with a tray of food and she walked towards me resentfully.

"Here's dinner for you, thanks to the Alpha King for letting you eat tonight," the Omega said arrogantly, then left immediately after giving me the food.

I looked at the tray full of food in confusion, "What the hell! It's rare that they give me this much food," I said happily.

Without wasting much time I immediately ate the food I had been craving for, at least tonight I could sleep with a full stomach.

After finishing eating, I realised that the omega was no longer locking the basement door. I also walked out of the basement, really I was very bored being cooped up in there.

Since neither Vivian nor her stepmother ordered me to do anything, I chose to walk around the pack.

While humming softly I enjoyed my time, although the cold air enveloped my body, but I didn't mind because tonight the moon was shining brightly up there.

As I looked up at the moon I recalled what Luke had done with Vivian this morning. I was in a very bad mood at the moment, thinking that marrying Luke was my way to get out of the pack.

And now seeing that Luke has a relationship with Vivian, I am sure that I will not be married to Luke. But, I still need a way out to get out of this family.

Suddenly, the thought of the Alpha King, who was visiting here began to cross my mind and I thought of an idea to take advantage of that man's presence.

I was well aware that my idea was dangerous and that I could die at the hands of that cold man instead. But, I should at least try approaching that man and see if my plan will work.

After all, I'd rather die at his hands than stay in this hell-like house any longer.

Then I decided to walk towards the guest room that was prepared for the Alpha King.

To avoid the warriors on guard I had to walk sneakily, I looked back and forth to make sure that no one noticed my presence.

However, without realising it when I looked back, I accidentally bumped into someone in front of me.

My eyes turned to horror when I realised what had happened, because I was currently walking among the trees behind the guest room area, how can someone be there.

I slowly looked up to see who the person I had hit was. However, before I could do so, I felt the person pulling my hand to hide behind a nearby tree.

It was then that I smelled a scent that was familiar to me, the refreshing scent of mint and coffee. And I remembered who I smelled it from, so I immediately looked up to confirm it.

"You-"

Before I could finish my sentence, I felt the man's hand covering my mouth.

"Shut up, or they'll hear you," the man whispered threateningly.

I nodded my head, saying that I understood what he meant. Only then did he withdraw his hand from my mouth.

Without realising it, the Alpha King who everyone knew was named Theodore Winsor had been hugging me when we hid behind the tree.

Realising that, I was quite blushing, because this was the first time someone had hugged me warmly like this.

However, I shook my head when I remembered my purpose here. I also looked back up to look at Theodore.

"Alpha, I have something to tell you." I looked at him straight without blinking.

I saw him frown in confusion, but still said, "Just say it."

"Really? Can you promise me not to kill me after hearing what I have to say later," I replied timidly.

Finally, Theodore looked at me with annoyance, "Say it now or I won't listen."

Afraid that I wouldn't have a chance like this again, I quickly nodded my head.

"Then, do you want to become my fiancé and take me away from this place?" I looked at him with an expectant gaze.

For a moment I could see Theodore blinking his eyes a few times, I could even feel his legs wobbling a little when he heard my words.
