Chapter 12: Full Moon Festival

Amarantha's POV

His eyes blazed as soon he looked at my surprised look. "How many times do I have to remind you not to defy my orders?" he asked, containing his anger, hissing his words to not alert anyone outside the door of this chamber.

"I-I uh..."

"Haven't I told you that this day and tomorrow won't be too good for humans like you? What if I wasn't able to get to you in time? What if those wolves ate you?"

I blinked. I just lowered my head, ashamed of my action earlier. I had been fancy thinking about getting away and not remembering that important note from the chambermaids. 'What an idiot!'

Iram exasperatedly sighed and scratched his nape to ease the tension.

Silence came and reigned between us.

I took that chance to look around. The whole room is filled with darkness. It somehow felt eerie and cold. That kind of atmosphere disappeared when the Alpha King walked towards the window and closed it.
