Chapter 6: Saving Grace

Amarantha’s POV

I was trying to wrack my brain in finding out one significant memory that could make me trace a moment in my life when someone had protected me from anyone who tried to harm me.

I tried looking back at my childhood memories.

Was it my parents? My friends perhaps?

Yes, they did. They were protective of me before. But those memories were slowly fading like faceless people who only occupy my dreams at night.

It felt like they never existed before. It felt like they were fantasies that I built on my own.

Due to the war, those little cherished memories of mine were slowly fading and were replaced by fear day by day. That fear turned into restlessness, hopelessness, and ignorance of my youth. I began to strain the records of my past until I couldn't hold one.

That was when I saw that same moment today. It was when my hater began to protect me. My mortal enemy, the Alpha King.
