CHAPTER -6

Time skip to the ball

Alex P.O.V

I entered the pack house and was dumbstruck by seeing the interior of the pack house. Alpha had held the ball before but this was too much.I felt as if I entered a gold land. There was too much golden color. The only things that were of different colors were the red carpet that began from the entrance of the pack house till the back of the house ,the big crystal chandelier that was hanging from the center of the ceiling,the red curtains of the floor to ceiling windows and the cover of the food tables.

Four golden color long clothes were tied to the chain of the chandelier stretched to the four corners of the hall. They were made of silk, the concave curve of the silk clothes gave it a tent-like look. The tables and chairs were covered in soft golden color clothes. There were beautiful flower decorations on each table. There were many metal flower stands in each corner of the room and two at the entrance.

Golden color flowers were there on the top of the stands and golden crystals were dangling from the top of the stands. The food tables were in the back of the hall. They were covered in white clothes. I never saw this to shine so much. Staff were decorating the entire hall with golden fairy lights. Musicians were rehearsing at one side of the hall. They were following the lead of the lead singer.

Luna Selena was assisting the maids. She looked tired. Everyone seemed like their tails were on fire. The pack chief's voice could be heard from the kitchen. Noah was talking to pack warriors. Today there was going to be tight security. They did not want to take any risk which would be Alpha King's safety.

Noah was discussing safety measures when his eyes fell upon me. He narrowed his green eyes and began to march towards me.

When he was at arm reaching distance he stopped in his tracks in front of me.

"What are you doing here Alex? I got orders from Alpha that you must not be seen anywhere near the pack house" He said with his arms crossed over his chests.

"Alpha did not tell you? " . I gave him my most wandering innocent look.

"Alpha did not tell me what? ".He genuinely looked confused. I could believe this trick still worked.

" Alpha James mind-inked me ten minutes ago. He told me he needed extra help and that 's why he needed me to come here ".I just hope this excuse works. Noah looked behind him at the preparations then back to me. He was debating in his brain. Before he could say anything Luna Selena came .

" Oh Alex, it's so good to see you. Can you please go to Caroline's room?She needs some help with something".Luna Selena was not very bad as the rest of them and I did not hate her that much.

"Of course Luna Selena".Because she was the person I wanted.

I rushed up the stairs to Caroline's room before anyone could ask anymore questions. I knocked on Caroline's door and when I did not get any reply I pushed the door open. As I entered the room a cloth flew out from the other side of the room and smacked me on my face. I pulled it off my face with my index finger and thumb and threw it on the bed. Caroline's back was towards me.

"Press them all for me before tonight". More clothes flew out of her closet. She turned to me and her expression turned sour " You .What are you doing here? You are not allowed to come here".I gave her the same excuse that I gave to Noah. She accepted the excuse and put the heap of clothes in my hands.

"I want all of this pressed before tonight".With that she left the room. I threw the clothes on the bed. I did not come here for this.

I went to her vanity. There were many cosmetics.I took a few creams and opened the lids of the container.I pulled out the etching powder bottle from my pocket as well as the gloves. Wearing the gloves I opened the lid of the etching powder and sprinkled it on the creams. After mixing them properly I placed them back , put the etching powder back in my pocket with the gloves. On the way out I told a maid to press her clothe . I quickly left the pack house.

Zander P. O. V

Our cars were coming near the pack territory . Me and Daniel were riding this car and my other high rank officials were riding in others. All the alphas were going to be in the ball tonight.After tonight's ball we were going to stay for another night. Tomorrow there was going to a meeting regarding the rogue attack. The rate of missing girls was increasing day after day. If we could not stop it beforehand it was going to be a disaster.

The rogues had conquered many pack lands but they left them all barren. One thing I never understood was what they were after? If they do not want the pack lands. Sure they kept girls hostage but they could get girls one way or the other. What was the use of all this?

The car came to a halt before the border of the warriors were there. They checked all our identities. The pack securities were very tight just like it needed to be. They allowed us to go. Within five minutes we parked in the driveway of the pack house. A blond muscular man with green eyes was standing in front of the pack house.

My chauffeur opened my door. I exited the car as Daniel exited from the other side. My other pack members exited as well. The guy said as we approved him

"Welcome Alpha Zander to Midnight Moon pack.

We are grateful that you grace us with your presence. I am Noah Haward,Beta of Midnight Moon pack. Unfortunately Alpha James was not able to personally escort you to the ball. He apologized for his absence.Please follow me" . I replied with a cut nod. Beta Noah took us in.

The pack house was of an old Victorian style .Marble floor , floor to ceiling window with red curtains and big chandelier. But everything there was too much golden color for my liking. Many alphas were already there and rest were pack members.The music was playing in the background.Everyone were enjoying these.

Noah walked straight to an old man whose back was facing us. Noah said something to him as he turned towards us.He pulled an older woman's hand to get her attention while he was still looking at me.The woman looked at him then at me.By now everyone felt our presence. The entire hall grew silent. They were watching us unblinkingly, some bowed in respect. Though I was not the alpha king yet, they respect me. Alpha Jame walked to us with the woman whom I presumed his luna and two other people strolled behind.

"Alpha Zander, it's a pleasure to have you here . Please let me introduce you to my family. This is my mate, Luna Selena and my two children, Ryden and Caroline. Ryden is soon going to be the alpha of this pack".

When I looked at his kids and I took a double look at them. Where the hell did these clowns come from? Does he have those vibrant pink hair strands or are my eyes deceiving me? And that woman. What the hell happened to her face? She looked like a ripened tomato. Her face was two sizes bigger for her body. Her face was completely swollen. Her eyelids, lips, nose all were red and looked like balloons. She was trying to cover her face with a scarf but was of no use.

I did not know anymore what the hell lives in this pack werewolves or aliens?

Half the way through the party I could not take it anymore. I informed my pack members I was going out to take some fresh air . I walked out of the pack house and was lazily strolling around aimlessly.

Suddenly a smell hit my nose. It was the most intoxicating smell that I had ever smelled. The smell was of rose mixed with nature.

I was surprised when my wolf became restless. My wolf was always calm but now it wanted to come to the surface.

My wolf urged me to follow the smell. I followed the smell , it led me to the forest behind the pack house.I came to a dead track when I saw a girl. The alluring smell intensified. It was coming from the girl. There was no light other than the moon light. I could not see her face. Her back was facing.

She pulled her hair tie out of her hair .A long thick bunch of black hair descended down her back The girl started stripping her clothes. She pulled her hair to one side. The milky white skin of her naked back was visible in the moonlight. Her skin was literally glowing in the moonlight. I could not take my eyes off her. The plants were blocking her lower half view. I wanted to see all of her. Suddenly an urge to devour her came in me. My wolf howled in my head.

I walked forward slowly. I felt my heart was beating faster than it had ever beaten before. I took her naked back in. My blood was pumping so hard in my arteries I could feel it. I wanted it to possess this curvy body .I wanted to see her face,her entire body.Suddenly my wolf howled"mate".

My body turned still after hearing those words. The person whom I wanted to reject for so long was in front of me and I was standing tongue tied.Now rejecting her was out of the question. My wolf always wanted its true mate and it would not stop until she was ours and deep down I knew I wanted her too.
