I waited for seconds for Caroline's reaction. As expected, her expression turned into what I expected. Her smile rotated into sadness.

She grabbed my hands and squeezed it. " Please, stop saying sorry for something that you have no control of. It wasn't your fault. Lexus was just a piece of trash. He acts very carelessly and trashy. Don't blame yourself."

"I felt obligated to extend an apology since Lexus has become some sort of my husband. It is clear to me that he wanted you more than he wanted me but thay is not your fault..."

I scoff. "I doubt that he even have an ounce of likes towards me. I feel like he is only keeping me for the sake of his father's name."
