AMY'S POV

I woke up in bits. The first stage was when I realized that I was in an unfamiliar place in a strange bed. I didn't own a bed as soft as this, and I certainly don't own a blanket that was this heavy and comfortable.

The second thing that tipped me off was my body. It ached in the most delicious way, like I had been squeezed and stretched and wrung out in the most pleasant way. It was a good feeling. My lips tingled, and my back was all straightened out. Like I had paid a chiropractor a good amount of money.

While I smiled and stretched, reality quickly set in. Was I in a dream? I pinched myself, and it hurt. It was the hurt that made my body jerk awake fully.

Where the fuck was I? My eyes took in the obviously very expensive hotel that I was in. What the hell? How did I get here? I looked under the blanket and screamed at the amount of bites on my body. My pale skin made the love bites stand out. It was particularly obvious in my inner thigh.

"What did you do, Amy?" I whispered to myself as I scrambled to stand up from the bed. I fell back on the bed twice when my legs caught the sheets. It was humiliating.

This was the second time I would be waking up in an expensive place that I would have never gone to myself. The man that I let take me to bed was the last detail that came to me.

He was familiar, but I know I would remember his face if I had seen him before. One thing I was certain of was that he was a wolf. It was not uncommon to encounter wolves. The only thing I could hope was that I hadn't slept with another wolf's chosen mate.

"But," I stopped and looked around the room. Except for my clothes that were strewn about on the plush rug, there was nothing else out of place.

He hadn't even bothered to leave me a note. Was I that cheap to him? I mean, I had given myself to him pretty easily. I don't even know his name, for goodness' sake, and I had let him do what he wanted. He didn't even ask for my name.

He had called me a good girl, and I remember liking it so much. I was such an idiot.

"You're going to come for me, aren't you?" He had growled in my ear when I was on the edge of my first orgasm. He must be used to women falling at his feet. He didn't even have to use any lines on me, not that he needed it with that gorgeous face of his. He had simply called me beautiful, and I was putty in his arms.

I used the spacious bathroom quickly, not daring to look at myself in the mirror. I washed my face to rid it of the makeup and wiped it clean. I wriggled back into my black dress, but I knew there was no way I was getting back on those death traps. Maddy made wear to the club. Instead, I walked out of the hotel room barefoot.

Fortunately, there was no one in the elevator, and I tried to hide my face behind my tangled hair. On reaching the lobby, it looked like everyone was looking at me and that they knew what I had been up to.

It was pretty hard not to feel judged. I was in a tiny dress with my heels in hand. I should have a sign that said sl*t on my back.

As if I wasn't ashamed enough, I had to beg a doorman to spare me fifty dollars to cover my ride home.

On the cab ride home, I remembered that I had abandoned Maddy and gone off with Mr. Tall and Handsome. Goddess, I must have really worried her going off like that. I could borrow someone's phone to call her, but I couldn't for the life of me remember her contact.

Of all the bad luck I had yesterday, I had been stupid enough to add one more to it. I felt used, and I know it was stupid because I had enjoyed every minute of last night.

"Ma'am? We're here." I felt a sense of déjà vu because yesterday, a cab driver had said the same thing to me, but it was when I was about to find out that my boyfriend was f*cking another woman on the side.

"Thank you." I paid and walked the rest of the way. I hoped my mother was sleeping because she was the last person I wanted to deal with right now. After everything she pulled last night...

Unfortunately for me, she was in the living room again and she stood up when I pushed the door open.

"Welcome." She said with a smile, but I wasn't deceived.

I didn't respond, and I made to move past her to my bedroom when she hauled me back by my hair.

"Where do you think you're going?" She snarled, all traces of her false smile melted off as she tugged on my hair.

"Mom, what are you doing?" I cried.

"Where's the money?'

"What money?" I said angrily and finally managed to free myself from her grasp.

"You were out all night whoring your body away, and you don't think I deserve a cut?" Sometimes, I wondered what my mother was smoking because there was obviously no purse on me.

"That's all you can say to your daughter that didn't sleep at home."

"You're such..."

"You've run out of money, right?" It pained me to realize that she had blown all my hard-earned money in one night.

"You dare to take that tone with me? You better get me my money or you'll be out on the street." She threatened and walk away.

Realizing that I might never make anything of my life, I slid down the wall of my room and cried myself to sleep.

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR

AMY'S POV The day of the banquet dawned bright and early. I had never seen Crystalline look so beautiful. It was like the city itself knew that there was something going on today. The day the whole werewolf community and the neutral world would know that I was married to Alpha and President Liam Arlington. I was nervous as heck, and honestly, if I had the opportunity to flee, I would. But I didn't. This moment would be our defining moment. First impressions last longer, and I wanted to put a good foot forward. I couldn't afford to make him look like an idiot for choosing me. I'm sure there would be a lot of talk because of my status as an omega, so I wanted to make him proud the only way I could, which was to impress the other alphas. That was the least I could do for him. It was like Maddy predicted, he had really good taste. The dress was a dream come true. It was everything I could ever imagine and more. It was a dress straight out of my wildest dreams. His jaw dropped when h

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

AMY'S POV The day got fixed, and as the day got closer, so did my anxiety level. It didn't occur to me until, like, one week before that I wasn't even the least bit prepared to meet his people. "Don't stress about it. The people that are going to meet you should be the ones scared, but they aren't." My husband assured me as I agonized over what I was going to wear to the banquet. The date had been finalized, and I was afraid that I would be found wanting or undeserving of the pedestal everyone was sure to put me on. I thought it was really unfair that people that knew nothing about me were going to judge me based on my appearance and mannerisms for one night. "Don't tell me not to stress when I'm already stressed about it, okay?" I snapped, and he put his hands up in surrender. "Don't go all Hulk on me." I narrowed my eyes at him, and he laughed. "I'm sorry, Bella Mia. You do have every reason to stress out." "What do you think the other women are going to wear? Are the oth

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO

AMY'S POV "What?" "Let me rephrase that. I want to throw an event in your honor." "We can come back to that question later. You don't know when my birthday is?" I was completely thrown off by that question. Of all the things I expected him to ask, I never thought he wouldn't know when my birthday was. He only stared at me as if that would provide the answers. "My birthday? Liam, you don't know when my birthday is? After all the background checks you did on me." "I don't know why, but it never came up, I guess. I just realized that I might have missed your birthday, and I don't trust that you would actually tell me." "You're right. If you had missed it, I wouldn't have said anything about it." I said honestly. It wasn't even going to be because I was mad or anything, but I don't like birthdays. In the words of my sage mother, they were quite unnecessary. "Why?" "Because I don't think it's a big deal. It's just a birthday." He looked at me with that expression that he uses w

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE

AMY'S POV "What night?" I asked in confusion. "The night of the first incident. You were being cornered by two men. I happened to be driving past because I had a few things to handle in the area. Now that I think about it, I think I was specifically put there to save you. I would have left a few minutes before, but I didn't." I struggled to comprehend what he was saying. "You were the one?" "Yes, I couldn't leave a girl there..." "That's not the point. You were my savior?" "Amy, you would have survived that night." "Don't patronize me, Liam. I would have survived death, maybe, but who knows what would have become of me if you hadn't come? Not only did you save me, but you also took me to a hospital? You could have scared them off and..." I was too emotional to even go on, so I settled for putting my arms around him. "Thank you, Liam." I sobbed, and to his credit, he just patted me on the back. "Stop crying, baby." It was easy for him to tell me to stop crying because he wa

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY

AMY'S POV Months flew by, and before I knew it, I was almost at the end of my training. I honestly didn't know where the time went, but I was grateful for it. Grace and I had a few altercations, but I showed her that I was not easily intimidated. There was a time when she came up to me after one of my training sessions. I had been too tired to even move. She strutted in like she owned the place. She kept walking until she was right in front of me, towering over my tired figure. "See how good you look down there, below me? That's where you belong. Make sure you stay down there, fucking omega bitch." Like every time I was called a bitch, it hurt, but I was too tired to even retaliate, so I left her alone. Unfortunately for her, she didn't know there was a camera in there. I didn't even have to retaliate before Liam did. He sent her to the basement for three good days. When she emerged, she looked like a shadow of herself. There was something different about her, like there was a

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE

LIAM'S POV I was in the middle of an important meeting when my personal phone buzzed loudly, diverting the attention of everyone in the meeting. My first thought was that there was a new development with Grace. So far, there's been no report of her and Amy having a fallout. Withdrawing her access was working better than I thought. As a result of the fallout with the Alphas, I was transporting as much as twice the good I was handling before. It was not a problem for me, as I had willing customers and suppliers, but moving too much product like that would bring nothing but trouble. Anything could go wrong, and I would end up with millions in losses. I had been contemplating putting another Alpha to handle the part, but I haven't decided anything yet. Everyone paused as the buzzing persisted. I frowned and picked up the phone. My heart rate spiked when I noticed that it was my wife's name that popped up, and then I relaxed with the assurance that it couldn't be anything serious sin
