LIAM POV
Today should be a good day. I was finally going to close a deal that I had been chasing for a long time. I mean, I was Liam Arlington, the wealthiest and most influential in the state. I never chased anything. Everything I wanted was offered to me. Except for the Charente Group of Companies. In the last year, their marketing department made more money than mine. That couldn't happen so I was determined to merge it to my empire. Of course, the owner and board of directors resisted because of how much profit they were making but I couldn't care less about what they wanted. Eventually, I wore them down with a two-billion-dollar sum. The largest anyone had ever spent on an acquisition. I have every intention of making twice as much profit. "Boss, they are on their way here." My assistant reported, and I smiled broadly at her. "You're going to get a nice bonus when this is all over." I told her and her smile matched mine. "Thank you, Boss." "That's alright. Page Reid for me. Tell him to drop everything he's doing and get up here now." I had the best view in the city, and I never let myself forget the view while making money that bought the spot. Now, I looked at it while my mind wandered to the girl that I rescued from those two bums. I checked back at the hospital, but they said she never came back. I ended up dragging those two bums to hell. Not only were they rogues, they had the audacity to operate on my turf. "Boss," Reid said in greeting, but he wasn't fooling me with that smirk. If there was someone I trusted with all my life, it was Reid. He is my friend, my Beta, and vice president of Grayson Corporation, where I am president. "Who are you fooling?" "Not you." He smiled and sat down without invitation. "You need to be present for the takeover." "Of course. Where would I be if I wasn't witnessing history being made?" "You're right." Thirty minutes later, we were done, and it was official. I was now the new owner of Charente Group of Companies. It was rather unfortunate that one of their conditions for takeover was that I never change the name of the company. It had a sentimental meaning to the former owner, and as someone who named his empire after his wolf, I understood, so I let him have that win. "Congratulations, boss." "Thank you, Reid." "Shall we go out to celebrate this achievement?" "Do we have to? You can give the staff the rest of the day off if they want to." "President Arlington, let's go out to celebrate. This is a major achievement." That was how we ended up in Club Noir, the most exclusive club I owned in the city. It was very exclusive, and the VIP was even harder to get into. It was not only about money, it was connection too. Reid invited a few members of my company that were really crucial to the takeover to celebrate, and I reserved the best drinks as they partied. These men were the definition of work hard, play harder. I scanned the crowd below me with the hope of finding someone that would do for the night. If there was anything that took off the edge for me, it was sex, and I hadn't had any since I started the quest to make Charente mine. None of the women I saw excited me enough to go home with. I was about to go home when a tiny woman in black caught my attention. She was all over her friend as they danced together. I watched her dance until she looked tired. It was the girl from that night. Something primal rumbled in my chest as I watched men try to dance with her. When I could no longer take it, I went down to her. "Hello, beautiful." She didn't recognize me, but that wasn't very important tonight. Having her in my bed, though, I just know we would be good together. "Wow, you're very big and handsome." She spoke clearly, so I wasn't worried about her sobriety. "I am." I smiled down at her. Even in her high heels, I still towered over her. My eyes were glued to her lips until she got the message. She drew closer to me until our lips touched. My body shivered, and I wondered if she felt what I felt as well, the same jolt of electricity. I kissed her softly, and the fire spread until I was devouring her with my lips and tongue. I didn't even care that we were in public. She gasped and wrenched her lips away from mine. "Shall we take this to my hotel room?" She nodded eagerly and I carried her out of the club. Our chemistry was even more potent than I imagined. It stretched through the night, our bodies molding together. She was passionate and wasn't shy to pursue the multiple orgasms that I gave her. By the time I decided I would let her body rest, it was midnight, and as I fell asleep, I was already thinking about ways to make her stay. "Sleep tight, my angel." I was certain that I was going to imprint on this woman whose name I still didn't know, and I had a feeling that she would like it. I pulled her closer, and for the first time in years, I slept with a woman in my arms after sex. It was the best sleep of my life up until my phone decided to ring. I was visibly annoyed, and the caller's only grace was that the woman who was on my chest didn't even stir. I had tired her little body out. "What?" "Liam, it's me." The sleep cleared from my eyes when I heard Reid’s voice. He wouldn't call me without a good reason. "You need to get down here now."AMY'S POV The day of the banquet dawned bright and early. I had never seen Crystalline look so beautiful. It was like the city itself knew that there was something going on today. The day the whole werewolf community and the neutral world would know that I was married to Alpha and President Liam Arlington. I was nervous as heck, and honestly, if I had the opportunity to flee, I would. But I didn't. This moment would be our defining moment. First impressions last longer, and I wanted to put a good foot forward. I couldn't afford to make him look like an idiot for choosing me. I'm sure there would be a lot of talk because of my status as an omega, so I wanted to make him proud the only way I could, which was to impress the other alphas. That was the least I could do for him. It was like Maddy predicted, he had really good taste. The dress was a dream come true. It was everything I could ever imagine and more. It was a dress straight out of my wildest dreams. His jaw dropped when h
AMY'S POV The day got fixed, and as the day got closer, so did my anxiety level. It didn't occur to me until, like, one week before that I wasn't even the least bit prepared to meet his people. "Don't stress about it. The people that are going to meet you should be the ones scared, but they aren't." My husband assured me as I agonized over what I was going to wear to the banquet. The date had been finalized, and I was afraid that I would be found wanting or undeserving of the pedestal everyone was sure to put me on. I thought it was really unfair that people that knew nothing about me were going to judge me based on my appearance and mannerisms for one night. "Don't tell me not to stress when I'm already stressed about it, okay?" I snapped, and he put his hands up in surrender. "Don't go all Hulk on me." I narrowed my eyes at him, and he laughed. "I'm sorry, Bella Mia. You do have every reason to stress out." "What do you think the other women are going to wear? Are the oth
AMY'S POV "What?" "Let me rephrase that. I want to throw an event in your honor." "We can come back to that question later. You don't know when my birthday is?" I was completely thrown off by that question. Of all the things I expected him to ask, I never thought he wouldn't know when my birthday was. He only stared at me as if that would provide the answers. "My birthday? Liam, you don't know when my birthday is? After all the background checks you did on me." "I don't know why, but it never came up, I guess. I just realized that I might have missed your birthday, and I don't trust that you would actually tell me." "You're right. If you had missed it, I wouldn't have said anything about it." I said honestly. It wasn't even going to be because I was mad or anything, but I don't like birthdays. In the words of my sage mother, they were quite unnecessary. "Why?" "Because I don't think it's a big deal. It's just a birthday." He looked at me with that expression that he uses w
AMY'S POV "What night?" I asked in confusion. "The night of the first incident. You were being cornered by two men. I happened to be driving past because I had a few things to handle in the area. Now that I think about it, I think I was specifically put there to save you. I would have left a few minutes before, but I didn't." I struggled to comprehend what he was saying. "You were the one?" "Yes, I couldn't leave a girl there..." "That's not the point. You were my savior?" "Amy, you would have survived that night." "Don't patronize me, Liam. I would have survived death, maybe, but who knows what would have become of me if you hadn't come? Not only did you save me, but you also took me to a hospital? You could have scared them off and..." I was too emotional to even go on, so I settled for putting my arms around him. "Thank you, Liam." I sobbed, and to his credit, he just patted me on the back. "Stop crying, baby." It was easy for him to tell me to stop crying because he wa
AMY'S POV Months flew by, and before I knew it, I was almost at the end of my training. I honestly didn't know where the time went, but I was grateful for it. Grace and I had a few altercations, but I showed her that I was not easily intimidated. There was a time when she came up to me after one of my training sessions. I had been too tired to even move. She strutted in like she owned the place. She kept walking until she was right in front of me, towering over my tired figure. "See how good you look down there, below me? That's where you belong. Make sure you stay down there, fucking omega bitch." Like every time I was called a bitch, it hurt, but I was too tired to even retaliate, so I left her alone. Unfortunately for her, she didn't know there was a camera in there. I didn't even have to retaliate before Liam did. He sent her to the basement for three good days. When she emerged, she looked like a shadow of herself. There was something different about her, like there was a
LIAM'S POV I was in the middle of an important meeting when my personal phone buzzed loudly, diverting the attention of everyone in the meeting. My first thought was that there was a new development with Grace. So far, there's been no report of her and Amy having a fallout. Withdrawing her access was working better than I thought. As a result of the fallout with the Alphas, I was transporting as much as twice the good I was handling before. It was not a problem for me, as I had willing customers and suppliers, but moving too much product like that would bring nothing but trouble. Anything could go wrong, and I would end up with millions in losses. I had been contemplating putting another Alpha to handle the part, but I haven't decided anything yet. Everyone paused as the buzzing persisted. I frowned and picked up the phone. My heart rate spiked when I noticed that it was my wife's name that popped up, and then I relaxed with the assurance that it couldn't be anything serious sin
