5. "She's My Mate."

Before she could process the sudden change, Liam's voice cut through the air, his tone icy and filled with killing intent. "Don't ever come close to me," he commanded, his words sending a chill down her spine.

With a forceful push, he shoved her to the side and left without another word, leaving Hannah stunned and bewildered by his sudden change in attitude.

Sophie, who noticed the commotion, seized the opportunity to intervene as she walked towards Hannah. With her head held high, Sophie wasted no time in belittling Hannah. "I told you that you're nothing. It's better you leave before you make things worse," she sneered.

Hannah, already conflicted by the unfolding events, noticed Sophie's approach and weakly questioned, "What have I done to you? Why don't you let me be?"

Sophie's disdain for Hannah was palpable as she responded, "You're weak and you're a disgrace to the pack. I don't know how you haven't noticed that you're just a tool for Alpha Liam."

Summoning what little strength she had left, Hannah rose to her feet and asserted, "Let me be. I have nothing to do with you." With that, she turned and left without looking back, retreating to her room and shutting the door behind her. Alone in the solitude of her corner, she allowed her tears to flow freely, feeling overwhelmed by the betrayal and rejection she had just experienced.

In the midst of her despair, Hannah's wolf, Lu, spoke to her, offering words of comfort and encouragement. "Hannah, you don't have to feel down. There must be a reason for Liam to act that way. Stay calm, and remember that you can't let Sophie come between you and your mate. Liam belongs to you alone."

Taking solace in the reassurance from her wolf, Hannah resolved to grow stronger. She considered seeking help from Scott, Liam's beta, to help her in her journey towards self-improvement.

Liam's irritation flared, and his aura filled the room with an undeniable presence. "She's my mate and your Luna. Keep that in mind as you speak," he declared, his tone edged with annoyance. "I don't need anyone's opinion on my mate. So, if this is the reason you called for this meeting, then consider it dismissed."

The room fell silent, the elders exchanging uneasy glances. Liam's firm stance left no room for further discussion. With a curt nod, he rose from his seat and left the meeting.

Meanwhile Hannah, feeling the weight of Liam's distant demeanor, sought solace in a stroll through the park. As she wandered deeper into the woods, the call to shift became irresistible. Her presence exuded dominance, with an elegance that commanded attention. But her tranquility was shattered when three betas, driven by malicious intent, ambushed her. The atmosphere grew tense as their predatory gazes locked onto her.
