Mia:

The silence between us didn’t feel as heavy as I knew it should anymore.

There was a lot to be said, and yet, I knew that nothing was to be said between us as a fight. And now, I knew that this was a moment where this silence was considered more comfortable, at least for me… I knew that Nathan was having a battle of his own.

He sat beside me, leaning forward, his hands loosely clasped, staring at the floor like he was trying to piece together something that refused to make sense.

I didn’t

It is indeed painful. I feel bad for Nathan. He never really seemed like such a bad guy to deserve such a deception.

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 67

Nathan:The office felt the same, it was cold and structured, like nothing shifted and nothing fell apart.I walked in early, needing something familiar, something that didn’t question me, didn’t demand answers I didn’t have, something that answered to me instead of me trying to answer to them.“Good morning, sir.” Joana was already at her desk, posture straight, eyes alert the second I stepped in.“Morning.” I said, walking toward my office.“Your documents are already arranged in your office,” she said, and I nodded, knowing that she would be noticing how things are. “Everything you need for today is prepared. And the files of the rescheduled meetings are also in your office, boss, you might need to take a look at them to reevaluate them. Mia has organized the meetings according to importance, but I told her not to intervene as you normally prefer to be the one to do it.”I nodded once. “Are the files in my office as she organized them?”“Uh… yes.” She said, hesitating for a second,

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 66

Mia:Rosalyn didn’t fall asleep right away. She rarely did anyway. It was always story please, mom I am thirsty, then can I go to the bathroom… and another story until her actual bedtime anyway… mom tricks, no?But today was different, her mind was still full of the day, of questions, of small details she refused to let go of until she said them out loud. She was a baby, and yet, she read the room more than most could, and easily if I might add.I sat on the edge of her bed, brushing my fingers gently through her hair as she stared up at me, wide awake despite how her little body was already giving in to sleep. “Mama?”“Hmm?” I asked softly. “Tell me, little wolf?”She shifted slightly under the blanket, her voice softer now. “I like him. He was nice today when he came.”I paused, knowing that she was talking about Nathan and I smiled, putting my hand on top of hers, knowing that the bond between them wasn’t one that would technically easily break.“I figured,” I said quietly.“Is he

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 65

Mia:I didn’t realize I had stopped stirring, not until the smell of the soup shifted just slightly and I blinked, pulling myself back into the moment.Because for a second, I had drifted enough to lose myself in everything that had been happening… and everything that still didn’t make sense.Him standing in my kitchen like he belonged there. Me allowing him here as if he did. And the fact that this just felt right in a way that I didn’t even know or want to know how to explain.I shook the thought away quickly, focusing again as I lowered the heat and turned toward the living room. That’s when I saw them… Rosalyn stood a few steps away from him, her small hands clasped behind her back like she was trying to be polite, but I could also tell that she was curious.Nathan stood across from her, looking… different, it was like he wasn’t sure how to move around her without breaking something. Brenda was already preparing the table, and I knew that we were not going to hear the end of today

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 64

Nathan:I didn’t remember the last time I stood in a kitchen like this. Not one filled with staff, not one where everything was done for me before I even asked, and not one where I never even bothered think about how things were going. This was different. It was warmer, smaller, more intimate… real.I stood beside the counter, sleeves rolled up, knife in hand as I worked through the vegetables Mia had set out. She didn’t hover, nor did she correct me or even try to tell me not to help. The second I walked into the kitchen with her, she just seemed to understand that I was there to help… and to my surprise, she let me.“You’re not completely useless,” she muttered, glancing at the cutting board. “I am surprised that you know how to handle a knife, too.”I huffed a quiet breath. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”“It wasn’t.” She teased, making me chuckle.“Of course it wasn’t.” I said, mockingly, playing her game with her. She smiled and turned to what she was doing.I shook my head sli

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 63

Mia:The drive back felt… easier.Quieter even, and though the two of us didn’t say a word, there were so many words to be said. A silence that I couldn’t even think about explaining, but it was like something had shifted between us without either of us fully acknowledging it.And for once, I didn’t feel like I had to build a wall between us just to breathe. We pulled up in front of my building, the engine humming softly as the moment lingered just a second longer than it needed to.I reached for the door handle then paused.Because something in me didn’t want the moment to end like that. It was too cold and cruel for it to do so, and there were so many words to be said, words that I couldn’t even begin to try and explain.I turned to look at him, and he was already looking at me, clearly studying my expression. I hesitated for a second before clearing my throat and smiling.“You can come up,” I said. The words came out before I could overthink them. His brow lifted slightly. “Come up

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 62

Nathan:The shift burned through me, and this time, despite my anger it didn’t consume me, it steadied me in a way that I couldn’t have describe. The run was harder, faster, even more challenging, but this wasn’t about a race… it was about a release of anger that I knew couldn’t have gone differently.Every step through the forest stripped something away. The anger. The confusion. The noise in my head that refused to quiet down.By the time we slowed, by the time the pull of the moon softened and the air grew still again, I could finally breathe. We shifted back voluntarily, and the two of us did at almost the same time… only this time, there was no rush or collapse… it was control for the two of us to choose, and it was the reason why we wanted things to go as they did.I stood there for a moment, letting the last of it settle as I reached for my clothes, pulling them on without a word. She did the same beside me, calm and controlled as if this was a part of her life that she never l

Mia:My heart didn’t just race. It stopped.Mama.The word echoed in my head like a gunshot, loud and impossible to ignore. I felt it in my chest, in my throat, in the way my fingers suddenly went numb around the cone I was holding. And if I was about to drop the cone before, I knew very well that

Nathan:Of all the places, it had to be here… the park.I stood there for a second longer than I should have, watching her as she steadied the ice cream in her hand, her fingers tightening just slightly around it before she looked up at me.Mia Romanov. But here, she looked… different.Less guarded

  • Alpha Lockwood   Chapter 18

Nathan:The room was quiet, soft, the kind of quiet that didn’t demand anything from me. It was a simple day going, and I knew that after last night, I needed it.I lay back against the pillows, one arm stretched out while two small bodies pressed against me, warm, steady, real. I smiled as I looke

Tania:I didn’t knock. He was already waiting for me to come in, so I didn’t bother with the formality. The door slammed open against the wall, and I walked in like I owned the place, because I should have. Because I was his Luna, or at least… I was supposed to be. And he was supposed to see me as
