*First Person's Perspective*

~Enise~

"Enise" As soon as his eyes met mine, he called out. My breath got caught up in my throat. I thought that I was fully prepared but seeing him again in person reminded me of our terrible past. But he still looked undeniably gorgeous. His beautiful hazel green eyes that made him stand out at all times and that perfectly chiseled face, but that wasn't my focus so I distracted myself immediately.

His eyes were wide and his lips slightly apart in shock. I can't lie, that reaction gave me the best satisfaction "Mr. Lucas, right?" I asked, totally ignoring his words as I walked up to him, my hands outstretched. He didn't take it, rather, he closed the gap between us and grabbed my shoulders "Enise" He called out again. His eyes going everywhere around my body, from my head to my toes "Enise" This time, it was a faint whisper "Um... Sir, you're making me uncomfortable. What are you talking about?. Who's Enise?. My name is Dr. Denise" I said to him, trying to break free from his grip

"Ha! Very funny, Enise" He responded and I creased my brows in confusion "I can't believe it's really you" He muttered to himself, but I heard

"This is very unprofessional Mr. Lucas. I do not know this Enise you speak of or who she is to you. I am Denise Richards And I am here to sign the medical contract between the two of us" I maintained my stance. There's no way I would let him know who I really was. That would only ruin my plans on taking revenge

I would never let him know my real identity, not until my plan has already been accomplished. "You don't have to lie to me, Enise. I already regret my past actions. You don't have to pretend to be who you're not, I..." He was saying but I interrupted immediately

"Are you sure he's alright?" I asked the man who stood at a reasonable distance, looking very stunned and confused. "Ahem!.. he.. he is alright, you just bear a striking resemblance to someone from his past" He answered and I smiled

"Oh! Is that so? Well, I'm sorry Sir, but this would be the first time I'm ever meeting you, so I am very sure that you're mistaken. I am not Enise, but Denise" I answered, the smile still gracing my lips. His grip on my shoulder loosened and I walked away swiftly and took a sit opposite the huge desk as the other man had gestured

It took him a while but he was finally able to get his act together. Not until I spoke though

"Not to be offensive or anything, but are we going to start with the process now or what?" I asked and he jerked out of his trance and walked up to take the seat opposite mine. "I'm.. I'm really sorry Dr. Denise. I just... You bear a striking resemblance with someone I know. I'm sorry for acting weird earlier" he apologized, I knew for sure he still had his doubts but I decided to play along

"It's alright Mr. Lucas. I understand" I answered with a smile. That said, we signed the contract and everything went smoothly. Words alone can not describe how happy and nervous I felt. I would see her again. I would be able to hold her once again. The joy in my heart knew no bounds, but I tried my best to keep my emotions at bay and act professional, just like I was supposed to

"So, I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked and I tilted my head, clearly not in understanding. "I mean, you'll be coming to see my daughter tomorrow? You know, the patient who needs medical care?" He elaborated and I nodded almost immediately. "Of course" I wouldn't miss that for the world

I wished I could see her even today, but I learned that she was in school and seeing her would not be possible

"Alright then. I shall be on my way now. It was nice knowing you Mr. Lucas and I can't wait to meet your little girl. Something tells me that we would have a beautiful relationship with each other" I said, displaying my thirty two dentals with my hands outstretched for the second time today

He grabbed it firmly and nodded. "It was nice knowing you too, Dr. Denise. And once again, I'm sorry for my behavior earlier" I simply shrugged it off. Honestly, I was tired of hearing it.

"Thank You Sir" I said and walked out of the office and headed straight out of the building. My cheeks hurt from all the fake smiles I had to put on. As we talked and he mentioned his daughter, scratch that, my daughter.. They had named her Miracle. He mentioned how sweet she was and all the fun things they'd done together. How she was a fun and easy kid, it reminded of the time I missed with her

Her first word, her funny moments, her tantrums. All the things that made a mother look back and smile. I missed all of those and it was all thanks to him and that stupid Laura

Listening to him did nothing but only strengthen my resolve to take revenge. I wanted nothing but to make him pay dearly for all the pain he caused me, I was...

"Dr. Denise" Ah! Speak of the devil. I turned around with a small smile

"You've been standing here for a while. Mind if I give you a ride?" He asked and I politely declined "Oh no Mr. Lucas, I'm alright. Just waiting for a taxi" I answered, but he insisted. "No really, I don't want to be an inconvenience to you"

"I actually don't mind, Dr Denise" I simply shook my head. Of course, he didn't change one bit. Why did he think he could always get things done the way he wanted? I mean, yeah he might be an Alpha, but he's not a God or something.. ugh! How much I carved to paw this bastard, I just wanted him to feel pain, but I was able to pull my act together before doing anything stupid

He had no idea that his presence alone was enough to make my stomach turn. "I am going outside the pack, my hotel accommodation is in the neighboring town, and I am certain you're not heading that direction" I said. He looked at me, surprised

"Why don't you come stay in the pack? I can give you a room in my home if you want. I mean, I want you to be comfortable since you'll be taking medical care of my daughter" Oh wow! I sure as hell did not expect that

"Are you serious?" I asked. "I sure am" he answered with a smile. One that I have never had the honor to witness

"I don't know, I really don't want to inconvenience you Mr Lucas" That was all just for show. I would gladly move into his house, since that would mean seeing my daughter everyday

"It's really nothing, my house is big enough to contain all of us" That said, I nodded in agreement. He called some of his men to go pick up my suitcase and belongings from the hotel I lodged in the neighboring town

We got to his house a few hours later and I felt really nostalgic. This place held so many memories, both good and bad ones. I sucked in a deep breath and put all that behind me. I needed to stay focused and not stuck up in my past

I was shown to my bedroom and when I was settled and in, I picked up my phone and rang Lucian

"Hello Lucian" I said the moment he pressed the green button

"I was able to get in. You should be on your way so that we can set the plan in motion" an evil smirk danced on the corners of my lips as I thought about what I had in mind

I was now a great evil he had no idea he created

I raised a brow, the silence dragging on far longer than it should have.“Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked, my voice sharp, annoyance creeping into my tone.It took her about three minutes to pull herself together, but when she finally spoke, her words were filled with incredulity. “Miracle is your child, Laura. How can you say something like that? How can you say you don’t care about her?”I scoffed, rolling my eyes at her dramatics. “Oh, don’t give me that look, Lyra. It’s not as though I hate Miracle or anything.” I waved my hand dismissively, leaning back in my chair. “Matter of fact, I do care about her—a lot. I mean, I’m the one who’s taken care of her since birth, haven’t I?”Lyra’s frown deepened, and I could see the gears turning in her head. I sighed, already annoyed at the conversation. “But let’s be h

    - First Person's Perspective -Laura’s POVWords could not describe how hurt I felt. Lucas’s words echoed in my head, each one like a dagger plunging deeper into my soul. And all because of her. That wretch, Enise. Why wouldn’t that woman leave me alone? Why couldn’t she just let me be? She had taken everything from me, stolen my life, my love, and now even my dignity. I had done nothing wrong to deserve this, absolutely nothing.Lucas was mine first. He always had been. From the moment we were kids, I had loved him. He was supposed to be my mate, my partner, my future. But Enise? She had wormed her way in, pretending to be the perfect one, the chosen one. And Lucas…he had fallen for it. He had fallen for her lies, her deceit. My fingers tightened around the glass of wine in my hand, the pressure building as my anger flared. Why couldn’t she just stay awa

    - First Person's Perspective -Alpha Lucas’s POVThe hum of the engine filled the car as I sped back toward the hospital. My knuckles were tight on the steering wheel, my thoughts spiraling between the argument with Laura and the image of Miracle lying unconscious in that hospital bed. My daughter had suffered enough. My phone buzzed on the passenger seat, and I glanced at the screen. Alpha Karl.Taking a deep breath, I picked up on the second ring. “Karl,” I greeted, my tone neutral.“Lucas,” he replied, his voice warm and cheerful. “I’ve been thinking about our conversation and the circumstances surrounding your actions.”I kept silent, waiting for him to get to the point.“I’ve decided to forgive you,” Karl finally said. His words were a relief, but I didn’t let it show. “I appreciate that,” I replied casually, my tone devoid of excessive gratitude.“Your father was a good man,” Karl continued, his voice tinged with nostalgia. “He was always there for me, even when we were kids.

    - First Person's Perspective -Alpha Lucas’s POVThe cold air outside did little to quell the fire raging inside me as I strode out of the hospital. My fists were clenched, and my jaw was tight. Miracle was stable, Denise was with her, and I should have felt some relief. But I didn’t.There was no room for relief. Not when my daughter had nearly bled out on the floor, crying about betrayal. Not when the real source of this chaos sat smug somewhere, probably stroking her ego as if she hadn’t caused all this.Laura.My hands gripped the steering wheel as I sped toward Marcus’s chambers. My mind replayed Miracle’s words, her tear-streaked face, and her tiny body trembling with pain and confusion. It fueled my anger until it was a roaring blaze. When I reached Marcus’s chambers, I didn’t bother knocking. The door slammed open under my forceful push, startling him from his seat by the fireplace.“Lucas,” he said, arching a brow, feigning calm. “What’s the meaning of this?”“Where’s Laura?”

First Person's PerspectiveSarah's POVI couldn’t get Aiden out of my head, no matter how hard I tried. He had taken a bullet for me, and now I couldn't stop thinking about him, the one person who had risked his life to save mine. I hated that I felt this way, but I couldn't help it. He’d done something I couldn't easily forget, even though everything between us had been broken before this.I knew Olivia, his mother, wouldn’t let me anywhere near him. She would make sure I never stepped foot in that hospital room again. But I couldn’t care less. I had to see him, to check on him myself. He had done so much for me; I needed to know if he was okay. I had to at least try to get in.I dressed quickly, not really caring what I looked like. This wasn’t about me. I grabbed my purse and headed for the door. My mind raced as I stepped outside and made my way to the car, all the while feeling the weight of the decision pressing on me. I knew what I was walking into. Ezra would probably be there

  • Alpha Lucas’’s second chance    CHAPTER 66

    - First Person's Perspective – Enise's POVI froze as Laura's body hit the bottom of the stairs with a sickening thud. My hand flew to my mouth, and a shrill, uncontrollable scream ripped from my throat. I stood trembling, unable to move, unable to breathe. My knees felt weak, threatening to give way beneath me. The sight of her motionless body, her hair splayed out on the floor like a dark halo, made my stomach churn. Blood gushed out of her head, I couldn't help the tears that gathered in the corners of my eyes “Oh, Moon Goddess,” I whispered, barely audible. “Please… don’t let her die. Please don’t let her die…I can't...i can't handle it, please” I continued, tears rolling down my eyes The guilt, the fear . It all hit me like a sledgehammer. My heart pounded so violently that I thought it might burst. If Laura didn’t survive this… I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. How could I ever face Miracle? Or anyone else?A piercing scream shattered my panicked thoughts, and I turned

  • Alpha Lucas’’s second chance    CHAPTER 65

    - First Person's Perspective -Enise’s POVThe house was too quiet, the silence pressing against me like a weight. I sat on the edge of the couch, idly scrolling through my phone, but even that couldn’t distract me from the thoughts swirling in my mind. The boredom was almost unbearable, yet I knew it wasn’t just that. It was the guilt. The thought of going to see Miracle crossed my mind more than once. I missed her tiny smile, the way her eyes lit up when she talked about things she loved. But then I reminded myself why I couldn’t—why I shouldn’t. She was happy, or at least as happy as she could be under the circumstances. My presence only complicated things for her, and deep down, I feared I might ruin her life altogether.I leaned back on the couch, closing my eyes as my thoughts swooshed over me. Was my desire for revenge even worth it?A pang of guilt settled in my chest, sharp and relentless. Maybe, if I had just stayed away, if I had let everything go Miracle would have been be

    - First Person's Perspective -Alpha Lucas's POVThe rumble of the car engine softened as I pulled into the grand driveway of Alpha King Karl’s mansion. My grip tightened on the steering wheel, my knuckles white with tension. Marcus sat silently in the passenger seat, his usually smug demeanor replaced with quiet unease. For five long minutes, neither of us moved. The weight of the situation pressed down on me like an iron chain. What if Karl decided I was too much of a liability to keep alive? What if this was the last time I’d see my daughter or Denise?I hadn’t even said goodbye.“Are you ready?” Marcus finally broke the silence, his tone measured but firm.I exhaled deeply, trying to dispel the creeping fear. “Ready or not, it doesn’t matter. Let’s get this over with.”Stepping out of the car, I adjusted my jacket and ran a hand through my hair. The mansion loomed before us, a symbol of power and authority that made my pack’s territory seem modest in comparison. Marcus followed cl

  • Alpha Lucas’’s second chance    CHAPTER 63

    - First Person's Perspective -Enise’s POVI was still lying in bed, trying to force all the gills running in my head to stop, when Lucas returned to my room, his expression serious but not grim. He stood in the doorway for a moment, watching me with an intensity that made my skin prickle. What was it this time? After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Finally, he spoke.“I’ve been thinking about Laura,” he began, his voice low but firm as he crossed the room to sit beside me on the bed.I raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to elaborate.“I’m sorting her out,” he continued, rubbing the back of his neck. “Once the pack’s crisis is handled and I’ve dealt with the Alpha King’s judgment, I’m planning to ban her from the pack.”The corner of my lips twitched upward. “Well, it’s about time. Laura is like a splinter—small but irritating as hell. If she stays, she’s going to be a pain in both of our asses.”Lucas chuckled softly, though his eyes still held a shadow of worry. “I just nee
