Chapter 5

SAMANTHA'S POV

Sitting on the porch of my so-called parents' house, I recalled the revelation that had shattered my entire world.

***FLASHBACK***

"What did she do?"Gamma Jonathan had asked with a confused frown but once he had seen the video which I didn't know existed, he had looked at me with such disdain and disgust that the hair at the back of my nape stood on edge.

"please Jonathan I can explain. I was..." I began but was interrupted when I was sent toppling back onto the couch I had woken up from.

"How dare you refer to him by his name. Have you no respect coupled with the fact that you have loose morals?"My father said

"Dad!"

I shot up from the couch to stand in front of him. My eyes watered at the thought that they would think of me that way.

"Don't you dare call me that? You lost that right when you decided to forgo your family's reputation as well as your fiance's repute. For goodness sake, he is a general. Do you know what this video could do to his reputation? "he responded.

"It won't get that far "Jonathan spoke up walking past my father to stand in front of me.

"If you didn't want this alliance, you would have said so. Why did you have to result to such dirty and cheap tricks to call this wedding off? And even worse you recorded it.For what? your sick entertainment? for pleasure?" he said through gritted teeth.

I saw some sense of satisfaction and relief in his eyes before it had been replaced with anger.

"I apologize on her behalf, Gamma Jonathan. I promise you, she will be properly dealt with"My father had responded.

"There's no need. I will have to punish this family for the humiliation your daughter has caused." he declared.

My father's eyes widened in abject horror. My mum looked at me with sheer anger and my sister....was grinning. Why would she be grinning at a time like this? Was she so happy to see me in pain? Did I do something wrong to her? Was I ever a bad sister to her? Where did I go wrong?

All these questions kept swirling around in my head as I felt the ache of a headache coming on.

"She's not my daughter."My father spoke up.

My head whipped up so fast I was afraid that I would have whiplash.

"Dad, what are you talking about?" I asked in disbelief.

"You were never our daughter. I picked you up from the streets and nurtured you, thinking that I could make a decent woman out of you but look at what you've become. "My mother responded.

"I don't believe what you're saying. It can't be true, you're just saying that because you're..."I pleaded.

"Look around you. No one in this family looks like you. We don't even have the same eye color or hair color "my father said chastising me like I was a little child that needed an extra push to understand what she was being told.

Looking around at the faces of my mother, father, and Maeve, it quickly dawned on me that what they had been saying was true.

All my life I had thought that I just looked different because of a relative down in the bloodline but I see that now.

"Then I call for retribution "Jonathan had declared

"And you will most certainly get that."my father replied.

Without so much thought, he pulled me out of the house kicking and screaming.

I begged but it seemed their mind had been made up long before I even woke up that morning.

***END OF FLASHBACK***)

Without a second thought, they had kicked me out and here I was perched in their driveway, cold while I awaited my fate.

I had nowhere else to go. I knew no one that was within a mile radius and I didn't think that any more would be so welcoming especially if that video had been sent around.

All I had left were the memories and the pieces of my life. Where was I going to go?

With renewed vigor, I walked towards the back of the house. My parents had driven out some time ago with a threat that they wouldn't take kindly to seeing me if they got back. I had to get something important from my room before I bid goodbye to the home I had grown up in and the family I had known all my life.

"Yes, She's out of the house."I heard a voice coming from the kitchen window.

"Yes, am glad she's gone. Now I can have Jonathan all to myself. She was such an ungrateful bitch, I don't know why my parents would do something so dumb like adopting trash".Maeve let out a resounding chuckle.

"Yeah, everything turned out so perfectly. It was just what I needed to get rid of her. She was becoming more than she always was to me, a nuisance. And thankfully, my parents fell for it. You should have seen her face when they had told her that she was nothing more than a bastard to this family. She broke down." she laughed so hard that the sound of her laughter echoed deep into my soul.

I felt my heart break to pieces at the words that were spewing out of her mouth. How could she be happy? I was her sister.

I felt my knees wobble at the weight of everything that had taken place in the span of a few hours. I had lost a family, lost my dignity and to top it all off, I found out that my sister whom I've loved wholeheartedly all these years thought of me as trash and had openly confessed that she was glad that I was gone.

Never again! I vowed that I would seek revenge for what I had suffered. I just had to get out of here before I was going to be seen. Who knows what Maeve would do when she saw me here?

I took a step back, stopping in my tracks when I came up against a rigid and hard body. Turning around, I looked up to see that I was staring into the cold dark eyes of the Gamma. Who was staring back at me grimly, ready to kill?

"Where do you think you're going?" he bellowed.
