Chapter Forty-Two: Speech

I think what made it worse... was that I knew he wasn't wrong.

No matter how much I denied it, the social structure of a Beta had been tested. It was one of the sure bets of loyalty I had always believed in. A Beta stood by his Alpha, it was an ingrained fact, a truth as simple as mates. Betrayal was something no one thought of.
