Nathan:

I watched as Katerina entered the house with her head hung low.

A small frown was on her face as she put the things she bought on the floor by the door, clearly not noticing my presence.

Not saying a word, I walked toward her when she turned around to take her jacket off, heading to hang it before wrapping my arms around her from the back, resting my chin on her shoulder. She tensed for a second before leaning into my touch, her body relaxing somehow despite her racing heartbeat.

“Do you want to tell me what’s bothering you?” I whispered, kissing her cheek. She didn’t respond for a few seconds before she sighed.

“I saw my friends today, and things got a little heated, I guess. They’re upset about the fact that I didn’t invite them to the wedding and the fact that they never met you. Anyhow, don’t worry about it; it will die down in a few days” Katerina said, turning around to face me. She wrapped her arms around my neck, hugging me tightly as she buried her head in the crook
