The Revelation

Hayley spared no effort the next day, she hurriedly went to the mayor’s place as soon as it was the time. It seemed like the mayor was in turn anxious to meet with her for a second time. She hugged Hayley as she came in. Hayley was surprised. She hugged her back a little nervous, wondering what was going on.

The mayor was in a long exquisite robe, her hair was a little rough and she looked like she was just out of the office. They strolled to the garden as they exchanged pleasantries and sat at the already set table in the garden to have drinks.

“I know you’re wondering why I called you here.” She started softly.

Hayley was silent. She gazed at her calmly, trying to study her expressions.

The mayor seemed uneasy. She was fidgeting as she spoke. “There’s something I want to tell you. it might seem a bit odd but um…” she licked her lips and smiled. “How’s Lucas?”
