Chapter 23

Reid's POV

After dinner I carried him over to the bonfire. We have two, there is a large one off in the side field where we hold bonfires for the whole pack, 1400 members.

Then we have a smaller pit in the back yard just off the patio a little ways.

I felt Julian tents up as we approach the fire. He stared at it with big eyes until we got closer. He then turned his head into me and buried his face in my neck.

I sat down in one of the chairs with him and rubbed his back.

"It's okay baby it's not going to hurt you. It's just a fire. Do you feel the warmth coming from it?'

He slowly turned his head around looking at it. I held my hand out toward the fire. "See, it gives off heat, it feels warm."

He slowly turns to look at it. He stares at it for a moment then tilts his head to the side. He slowly extends his hand out near mine.

"See it's warm. It can't hurt you from here." He smiles then looks back at me. I smile back at him an

I don't know what to think I've cried the whole time so far. My heart hurts for Julian and Reid. I'm not liking Alpha Ace at all, can't believe he would do something that horrible to his own. child. That's just sick.
