I’m out of bed in less than a second.
Charlie buckled to her knees crying out, the sound rousing a few of the girls sleeping around me. Lila included. I stumble over to her, stepping over sleeping heads and mussed beds. When I grab for her, my hands draw back covered in blood. Thick, dark blood still seeping from claw like cuts along her arms. It makes my stomach turn for a moment.
“Are you okay?” I question, pulling her hair from her face gently. Her hair is coated with blood, and through it, I can see what looks like spots where hair has been ripped from her scalp. I swallow uncomfortably. What happened to her?

~Brielle I’ve never been so afraid of Ren until this moment. When we were stuck down at the bottom of his basement, listening in to a conversation we shouldn’t have, I wasn’t as afraid as I am. ~Brielle My entire body becomes aware of everything around me.Slowly I turn around, but I only see an empty room, the sound of Charlie’s machine wheezing and purring throughout the room. ~Brielle Ren and I didn’t speak anymore until we reached our destination. We reached the top of the hill, as it leveled off onto a beautiful landscaped area surrounded by a fence. Where we have ended up definitely looks like an event area, with a view at the far end, a significant manor in the middle and a formal lawn stretching out in front. We surely made the climb up the mountain for this. Ren’s driver takes us down a smooth driveway before we park in front of the manor. Peeking out the window, I investigate the decorations. ~Brielle Ren looks reluctant. Who knows what Chase will do to me if he takes over Ren. There is no one in this place that would be able to help me if he decided to attack me. After what he did to Charlie, it is not out of the realm of possibility that he would do that to me. However, I have the feeling he wouldn’t do anything. I’m not sure why, I just do. “I’m not so sure that is a good idea,” Ren says skeptically, raising his eyebrows at me. He shifts uncomfortably on the couch, but I don’t pay attention to his defiance. I know why he is anxious about it, but I have to speak to Chase. I breathe in slowly. “Let me talk to him, please. Maybe I can find out why he is coming out more now that I’m here. ~Brielle Ren came back right in front of me. My shoulders slump as I realise my one chance to get to Chase is gone. He managed to trick me, and with his last words, have left me dumbfounded. ~Brielle I’m not sure what made me head to bed so late. I had to be honest and tell myself how much I enjoyed last night talking to Nick and the rest of the landscapers. It felt good to not worry about all that is going on with Ren and Chase. I could relax and have normal discussion with normal people. Turns out that despite being a hopeless flirt, Nick is a genuine person who has many interesting stories. He’s excited about working here too on the Alpha’s island. ~Brielle My heartrate never slowed. Rushing outside, I slide into Chase’s car, looking over my shoulder at every opportunity. As I shove the key into the ignition, I pray Chase won’t wake up and come out here to drag me back inside to punish me. Who knows what he would do if he woke up to see that I was gone. Turning the key, the car hisses and roars, however, fails to turn on. I try again, harder this time, but nothing seems to be working. “Shit,” I curse under my breath, looking back toward the cabin. No movement comes from inside, although that doesn’t stop me from assuming Chase might have woken at the sound of the car attempting to start.
