Viktor:

The door slammed behind Nikolai and the sound rattled the frame.

For a long moment, no one moved. My office looked as though a storm had torn through it. Papers littered the floor, a chair lay on its side, and my desk had been shoved several inches out of place.

Elena stood near the wall with one hand still pressed to her throat. I looked at her, truly looked at her, and whatever sympathy I had felt moments ago vanished beneath a surge of anger.

“What were you thinking?” I asked.

Her eye

So, now putting yourselves as mothers or fathers in Viktor's shoes, are you going to validate him? I mean, he could have done it years ago and he chose not to for Nikolai. But now it is his daughter, no matter how wrong she might be, who would be harmed... if, as a parent, you were in his shoes, who would you choose? Your Alpha, the person you could have pushed aside years ago and chose not to or is it going to be your kid who you know was just harmed by that same Alpha?

As parents we want to protect our children but there are consequences for every action that we do. Elena has crossed the line more than once and she will continue to do so again if she stays. I feel bad for Viktor but if he goes against Nikolai he’s decision he’s going to regret it.

Valeria:The first thing I felt was Nikolai’s hand wrapped around mine. The second was fear.My eyes flew open, and the ceiling blurred above me. I tried to sit up before my body had fully caught up, but pain and weakness dragged me back against the pillows.“The baby,” I whispered.Nikolai moved at once. “Lie down.”“The baby, Nikolai.” Panic sharpened my voice. His hand settled on my shoulder, gentle but firm enough to keep me from forcing myself upright. I ignored him and reached for my stomach as fear tightened around my chest.“Is the baby okay?”He caught my hand before I could press it against myself and held it between both of his. “Look at me.”“Nikolai.”“Look at me, Valeria.” I forced myself to look at him, and my through his silence, my heart raced as I waited for what he was going to say.He sat so close that his knee touched the side of the bed. His hair was disheveled, and exhaustion shadowed his face, telling me he probably had not moved for hours. Tension hardened his

  • Alpha Romanov   Chapter 92

Nikolai:By the time I went to get Valeria, the terrace looked almost too perfect for such a cold night. The staff had done more than I asked. Heaters stood discreetly near the stone columns, and warm light fell across the table without disturbing the darkness beyond. Candles flickered between low arrangements of winter greenery, while the snow gathered along the garden edges caught the moonlight and made the estate seem quieter than it had any right to be.Valeria stopped just outside the terrace doors. “You said dinner,” she observed. “But it seems to me like you put in the effort.”“I thought dates required effort,” I said, extending my hand to her, making her laugh softly and the tightness in my chest eased. That was all I wanted from tonight. Not forgiveness or another painful conversation about everything that had gone wrong, just something simple enough to remind us that we still knew how to be together.Valeria hesitated when it came to taking my hand, but I waited and when sh

Nikolai:By evening, Valeria looked more like herself. She was still tired, and I could see the caution in every movement, as if each small tug in her body reminded her of what had happened. Still, some color had returned to her face. She had spent most of the afternoon reading instead of staring into the distance. I knew that did not mean the fear was gone, but it eased some of the tension I had been carrying.I sat across from her near the window, council notes balanced in one hand, though I was getting very little work done. I had read the same paragraph so many times that I no longer knew what it said. Every few minutes, my attention drifted back to her.She lowered the book. “You’re terrible at pretending you’re not watching me.”“I have no reason to pretend,” I told her. “I am watching you.” I leaned back in the chair and looked at her properly. “You look better,” I said.“I feel a lot better.” She said, smiling, making my eyes soften.“Well, I am glad.” I said, “to say the leas

Santos:I waited three minutes after Elena left, long enough for her footsteps to fade and for the maid to wonder if I was still outside. She had seen me over Elena’s shoulder. Panic flashed across her face when our eyes met, and I lifted a finger to my lips. The gesture was casual enough to escape notice, but the maid understood. When I pushed the door open and stepped inside, she was waiting for me. Her anger hit before the door even closed.“You bastard,” she spat.I shut the door calmly. “That took longer than expected,” I said.“You stood there,” she accused.“Yes,” I answered, leaning against the frame. “I stood there the entire time and watched you lie to her.”“You made me lie,” she said. “She was my friend, and you chose to make me lie to and betray her!”“I didn’t make you do anything,” I replied. “You chose to do that, I simply gave the instruction, but you chose to listen to what I said and you are the one who followed along with it.”“You told me not to speak.” She snappe

  • Alpha Romanov   Chapter 89

Elena:By the time I reached the servants’ wing, my panic had changed shape. It was no longer the raw, contagious fear that had swept the estate when Valeria started bleeding. This was colder, it was the kind that arrives when you realize you left something dangerous unfinished and you have no idea whether the person you trusted with it still understands the rules.I found the maid in the linen room, folding towels beside another girl. The moment she saw me, her hands slowed. I had no patience for pretending this was a casual visit. “You.” I said, looking her in the eye. “Come with me.”The other maid glanced between us. “She needs to finish...”“She can finish later.” The girl I wanted set down the towel and murmured, “Yes, my lady.”We walked in silence to the quiet end of the servants’ corridor. I led her into a small storage room and closed the door behind us. Her expression tightened at once. “What happened? Is everything alright, my lady?”“The packet. Do you still have it?” Her

  • Alpha Romanov   Chapter 88

Elena:When Nikolai summoned me to his office, I spent the walk there trying to decide whether I was about to be forgiven, punished, or reminded that the only reason I was still inside Romanov territory was because Valeria had almost lost her child.None of those options settled well, and I knew that now more than ever one mistake could be fatal for me.I knocked once on Nikolai’s door, taking a deep breath as I did, preparing myself for the worst. Hell, I punched the man in the face, I was lucky to be alive after doing so, but now standing outside his door… I didn’t know how I should be feeling about it.“Come in,” he said. His voice was calm and that made me more uneasy than any raised tone could have.I opened the door. He stood behind his desk, papers spread out in front of him. The bruise along his jaw looked darker today, a reminder of what I had done. My gaze went to it before I could stop myself. He noticed, but neither of us said a word.“You wanted to see me,” I said.“Yes.”
