Chapter 12

Tamara,

The first thing that registered in my mind wasn’t the screams or the smell of burned flesh in the air, the thing that made me open my eyes was the presence of my wolf.

She was pacing inside of my head, agitated and snarling at me to wake up. She tried to make me open my eyes.

And I just did that and darkness greeted me as I turned around, then hissed in pain when my wounds stung.

Then I heard them, the loud screams, the growls, the angry howls, and the pained ones, then the smell of smoke, fire, and blood.

I threw the comforter away and ran to the open window to look through it, and what I saw outside made me gasp in fear and horror.

The pack was under attack. Everyone was either running away, screaming, or fighting.

And the ones who were attacking us weren’t just some rogue wolves or even stupid humans who stumbled upon us.

There were wolves, vampires, witches, and maybe a dragon?! I wasn’t sure, but there was something breathing fire through the trees.
